Hi guys and gals! It's been a while since I've been in here as we've been snowed under with the new business and Saab renovation (I'll update my build thread a bit later) Now, with the Saab nearly at a point where I could happily keep it, my mind also wanders onto 'what if'... so, here we go: The misses has a cake making business and we attend a lot of events where other companies have a promotional vehicle of some type or another (Nissan figos, for example). Now, the cooler/odder/more eye catching of them are allowed to park in pride of place outside the venues for extra advertising while the rest are hidden out of site. So this for me thinking, can anyone suggest a car/van or something that we could sticker up and use as promotion? I'm considering using the Saab to be honest, but I'm not sure I'd a c900 is that 'different' enough.. Any ideas? We can't afford a lot, and in fact I'd probably have to sell the Saab to pay for the new car, so no silly budgets please!

A 3 pot three carb two cycle S spec Saab is pretty damn different, but I don't know how much cake it'd carry... One of those old Citroen delivery vans made out of shed siding is different and would bring the cake. Fiat 850 Familiare van also fits.

No no no..... might be cool in this parish, but we are looking at a promo ride in a cake makers world they wouldnt see most of the above as 'WOW' they do cakes - not rides gonna have to think outside the 'cake' box here whats your budget? I'm thinking a Austin A30 van - Wallace n Gromit style Or indeed a old Granada hearse MK3 would be the cheapest I guess

I was going to say Nissan S cargo but beaten to it.
What kind of theme does the business have as you want to keep in line with that really. If its more a shabby chic type affair then it should be a classic like a30/35 or morris minor van.

These look good, you might need a weatherproof container for the back, and cross your fingers she never hits anything... (Vintage Piaggio Ape) ETA: Here's a row of 'em I spotted in Sicily recently

PT Cruiser with a van conversion would look good, nice paint a lettering would make it stand out from the crowd. I can't seem to copy a paste any images from google.

Diahatsu Hijet van, relatively cheap and economical. My brother when your route got some old van, it kept braking down and was expensive to insure because it was sign written, he ended up getting it resprayed and sold it, now has estate car.
Don't want to rain on your parade but check out insurance because this will have to probably be commercial/buisines vehicle insurance and tell them if you get it sign written because that will increase the insurance premium.
Really if this is going to be your main vehicle go for best and probably newest you can find.

Love the Nissan S Cargo idea. That would be my first choice. Don't know whether that would fall into your budget though, not sure. Think £3k is about the starting point for a decent one.
Half that should get you a decent Skoda Felicia Fun.

As you'e a bit handy with the spanners, why not buy a cheap beetle and do a van conversion on that?
