Are you calling me old? That's my one, I'm really conflicted on mods for this car. What originally happened was someone crashed into my mid 90s Jeep and not having any ready cash I thought I'd need a cheap replacement. I worked out I could get a early UK car for not much dosh and would then do the whole slammed, roof racks, led a hard life look. Circumstances changed a little, I borrowed some cash and started thinking about getting a newish Audi wagon and slamming that. After actually driving one I decided against it and it was my wife who said why don't you buy the Forester. So now having a bit more cash at my disposal I thought what would be the perfect Forester for me. I decided Mk1 STi was the only way to go and promptly bought the only one for sale in the country. So now I have it, I look at the wheels and think they are pretty much the coolest things around and are what I'd probably buy if they weren't already on there. The suspension works pretty well for spirited driving but I think bigger anti roll bars are in its future. Engine wise its pretty rapid with about 230hp. I'll probably end up getting a set of coilovers and playing about with ride height, but in my mind I'm thinking gravel spec rally car rather than stance.

First of all 'old friend' was representative of being friends for years rather than (our) age. I can't say I feel the same about the wheels, I'd be tempted to find a set of 3SDM 0.05s for it and then whack it on air so you can use it for looking awesome at shows, spraying gravel on rally stages or being sensible on the school run at the flick of a switch. edit: I've found one on 3SDMs: Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout.

I really would love a set of THs for it (in gold of course) These Rotas are cool I don't think air is the way to go here but running it lower 95% of the time I can do, its only going to be when its loaded up with camping gear and we are driving 600 miles maybe not. Hayley did just point out to me that it is lowered already.

That's settled then. ps. I've changed my mind on your wheels after seeing your preferences. You need Gold M Technica Turbos.

From what I have read, you can get them very low but you need to replace lots of bits with bits from an Impreza. Worth the effort though, I keep showing them to my wife, she didnt see the appeal (the swear filter on here would probably break if I typed what she actually said) lol

Impreza stuff bolts on and needs wagon springs on the back to sit level. That will get you to my ride height I think. Then coil overs will get you to the next level. Things start to rub on the inside other wise. I've done some research

Nice examples all round! I've been thinking about a Forester myself, as a compromise between family hauler and work wagon. They do look awesome slammed!
