Not that i have £10,000 myself but if you did what would be a good investment that you think would only go up in price? I'm thinking Mk2 Escort RS 2000 3 door Sierra cosworth E30 M3 Series 1 RS turbo But then wouldn't these sort of cars already reached their peak prices?
What would you buy and why?

Oldest and cleanest 911 I could possibly find for 10k. Pretty boring/obvious answer I guess, but I'd love a 911 and they probably will keep on going up in price.

I think you can scratch off E30 M3, Sierra Cosworth and the RS2000 unless rough ones count as you're going to be looking at nearer £20k or more for a decent one of any of those. As for me, with £10k to play with I'm honestly not sure I could spend it on just one car, but if I had to it would be more than likely something classic and Japanese with the change going on making it exactly as I want it.

Investing in cars is a very rich persons/fools game. But if I had 10k to blow one one car, 1994 Toyota Supra single turbo 6 speed. Or yellow 1970 Olds 442 with a stick on the floor.

You would only get a 996 for that budget , doubt they're going up in value any time soon , the market is stupid for air cooled and dealers are asking mental money.. www.hexagonmodernclassics.com/car_sales/Porsche-911-Turbo-930-LE/7646.htm

Would be a wise move that but not much fun sitting in the middle of a wet field or a middle terraced house without a roof lol

Lancia Flavia Coupe Or a '49 Ford coupe if I could find one that wasn't shagged for the money. Or an early 50s 2 door Chevy. Or a billion and one other things. Sorry, none of them would be investments as such. Unless you have barn space to spare, consider the cost of storing a relatively cheap old car for long enough for its value to become significantly greater.

Mine would also have to be a 3dr rs cosworth , obviously a ropey one if you could find one . Spend some money over time bringing its condition up and removing curse word wheels and chavvy bits etc .

Ok them maybe not make money but not lose any either? Pretty much anything RWD and Japanese, any eighties/early nighties hot hatch in original condition, Porsche 924's and 944's, the best Rover SD1 you can find would be a decent buy too. Things like late Cortinas, Granadas and Capris will continue to go up in value and I think eighties MG's (Maestro, Montego and Metro) are due a renaissance too at any minute. Although, as a rule of thumb, anything recognisable from the seventies and eighties and kept in good condition I doubt will lose money any time soon. The real skill is spotting stuff from the nineties and early 2000's that are going to be worth something in the future as they are probably the most unloved era of car ever.

If I was buying as an investment I'd go for any non-VW van, especially the French/Italian stuff. If I really had to narrow it down I'd go for the Renault Estafette. People being priced out of the VW market are looking for alternatives and these have a good chance of being the next big thing.

You could probably triple or quadruple that for a Fury now. Paid 2 and a half for my Savoy coupe way back in '98!

I'd probably go for a V6 Clio or a R8 Gordini if i had ten big ones hanging around. Albeit the Clio would have to be a MK 1 and the 8 would have to be requiring work.

My £10k investment car would be a BMW 840i, get a real nice one for that money, bound to be a £25k car before long.
However, if I could buy any car for investment purposes (deep pockets thinking..) it'd be an XJ220, only 2/3 years ago were they £75k cars, and they're still available at (comparitively) dirt cheap prices IMHO.
My investment cars to avoid would be stuff like a MK1 Cooper S (£25-30k seems the norm now), MK1 Escort's and E-type's - they're grossly overpriced (again, IMHO) and are set for a decline in the coming years, I believe!
