Hi Everyone Heres my most recent purchase Its a 1994 3.9 vogue se 147000 miles, mot till june This classy old gent looks very presentable from the outside, but i'm afraid when D day arrives in june, he may be donating his internal organs, as he is quite poorly underneath, the true extent of the corrosion can't be determined without removing some of the body work, so my plan is to enjoy the last of his days, being wafted in style & comfort around the fens, then strip him down to see what is lurking inside.
[img src="http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee7/hart5lizard/DSCN1804_zpsabd4bef7.jpg" style="max- width:100%;"]
He comes with loads of history & bills, both keys & fobs, all the important electrics work ( memory seats , air suspension) previous owner purchased in 1997, kept servicing right up to date, spent a total of £17500 in labour & materials! not including mots!

Think you're missing the point there somewhat.
Nice to see a straight, honest soft dash. Shame it's so rotten, in a few years such well historied cars will command a massive premium IMO.

Very nice Please don't break this, I still find that a RRC gives you a sense of occasion when arriving somewhere that very few cars can match! Hope it brings you much joy.

Worth saving if possibleecially if everything works!
I haven't seen any soft dashes over here, there seems to have been a bit of a RR hiatus between around 1990 and 1995 when a few P38s appeared and then again, nothing from around 1998 until the next model was released. These Classics carry a huge premium here and are easily twice the price of my 38.

If you do break it, I'll buy the diffs off you if they're 10 spline (should be).

What a lovely rangey! I'm currently hanging my nose over Classic Range Rovers with malevolent intent I'll second the notion of restoration, and not breaking it or turning it into a 'rigger boot special' off-roader. Classic Rangey prices are definitely on the move, upwards. A well historied car like this deserves to be brought back to life, IMHO

Thanks everyone for taking the trouble to post on my thread,
I will take more photos at the weekend so you can get an idea of the condition of the car.
I am really too busy to do take on this car at the moment & to be fair I didn't really want it, but Pete, the previous owner, made it impossible for me to say no, I love these cars, they are increasing in value , some examples commanding £25000+ ! I really love the shape & the proportions, the paradox of allegro door handles, massive panel gaps, the idea that people just want them, despite ( because of ? ) the eccentricities , the japanese started to make
better, more reliable luxury off roaders, but the range rover classic has soul, love em to bits!
I have seen soft dashes supposedly in mint condition on ebay for £6-7000 but really how do you know if the bulkhead behind the dash is even still there & hasn't dissolved unbeknown to the owner?
I rekon the only way to be sure you get a good soft dash is to restore one, or buy a restored example, so I am loathed to dismantle mine, unless I use it as a spares donor for another one
but vw camper comes first, then i'll have a look
Dan

Bumping!
Because I am extremely curious as to the current status of this RRC. Considering one myself.
