Morning all,
With winter just around the corner and the roads already dusted down with a nice covering of salt, I'm in need of some rustproofing advice.
My current car has got some underbody protection on it - looks like a layer of old waxoyl - but I'd like to renew it.
I've been told that Dinitrol is good stuff to use but I'm not really sure where to start.
Are there any recommended companies that could carry out a comprehensive undersealing/injection job, or is it something I could do over the course of a day if I preordered the relevant bits?
Any guidance appreciated.
Cheers,
Lewis

My Old Man asked me this the other day, I'd be interested to see the outcome of this. I don't want to do it all for him so it'd be nice to find a reliable company he can take it to and get it sorted.

Know what you mean. Don't mind doing it myself but just want to do it with something that's going to last and actually going to protect. It's not something I've undertaken before either, so I'd loathe to just spray a load of stuff everywhere in vain. Here's a picture of the new winter runabout. Had to go for a safe, sensible option. Even got winter tyres fitted!

Hi I have just completed this job. If it's a long term keeper you need to allow a couple of days at least. Use dinitrol products the cavity wax and underseal are excellent. It took me a while and that was in a near mint car to start with.
The key is perpetration getting the wheel arch covers off etc getting all the interior panels removed. This allows you to clear any rust and treat it. Then you coat every interior panel in cavity wax and get it into all the nooks and crannies as well as the cavities.
I did it on a xr2i but because i am fastidious I used 10 cans of cavity wax and 9 cans of underseal but I literally coated every single panel and went way overboard.
The key is prep work getting the car ready and completely dry is the hardest part.
I looked into getting it done but no one could match me for my sad obsessive approach :-)
It's a lot of work but requires no skill just attention to detail and time

Just saw the integrale like it a lot !!! Dude literally coat it everywhere !!! Lest it rust. While you are doing it you will get a chance to clean out all the water traps that get clogged with leaves etc

Without any doubt Bilt Hamber is the best. We restore rusty Mercs for a living and its the only product that protects MBs rubbish recycled steel. The old Cortina has been thoroughly doused in it for a few years too and held up 100%

Thanks Looks like Bilt Hamber it is! Read a great guide featuring it elsewhere so will use that as a template.
Cheers.
