After reading and seeing some awesmome topics here i thought i'd share my ride. Unlike some people here who do amazing stuff i am more of a,. wannabe mechanic My car started life as a 1.2S automatic,. but i felt the need for a little bit more power and after spending to much cash on a donor vehicle my first engine swap was a fact. heavier rear axle; recaro's & nice little steering wheel. i tried fitting double carbs but i didnt get it running, looked nice though. So i went with the injection set that came with the donor car/engine. a good friend of mine helped me out with the wiring and it all worked,. the fun didnt last to long as i failed at doing a burnout and ended up breaking stuff. it all had to went out again. This is where it went wrong and i lost motivation. the car stood still for a few years and i didnt do anything substantial to it,. untill this year when i decided to put in a 1.6s for the sake of having a car that runs. got it in, again my friend helped me get it running, and things looked good,. but not for long as the pushrodbearings were all worn out. which brings me pretty much to where i am now,. the 1.6s is out and a fresh 2.0s is in but still needing to finish it.

After staying dorment for a while, i started patching up the bodywork a bit. Since welding isnt an option for me,.. i have turned to the half assed measure we all know as polyester putty.. However, i don't drive in the wet, and she's always staying inside so.. untill i have the proper tools etc,. This will have to do. also bought some 7 & 8J alleycats.. Lowering is on the to do list... Next post i hope to have the lowering and injection sorted,.. for now a single barrel solex will have to do.. Greetings!

Looks great, shame you could'nt get the twin Dellorto's to work, they look (and would have sounded) great. Strange place to mount the fuel pump though. The Alleycats look good but prefer the ATS's TBH. Keep up the ggod work

Thnx, well today i probably would get it to work... but yeah didnt know what i was doing at the time.. anyhow.. i have different plans today...
As for the allycats, i like them better.. but i don't dislike my ats' s at all.. there under my gf's corsa atm. But they'll stay.. I don't know how it is where u are from but here ats' s are (still) pretty common and relatively easy to come by.. (specially the ones i have) allycats not so..

Looks to be a good solid shell. Hope the springs settle a bit lower, the new wheels really suit the car.

Hehe yeah me too... they should after some milage and proper cornering,.. The car is pretty solid but under the front fenders towards the a pillar it needs welding. I'll get there at somepoint but i don't have electricity or welding equipment right now. And for now money is spent on wheels springs brakevalve, tools for making the brakelines and some other stuff,.. But.. thats how it goes.. Not referring to height

After fixing my brake balance issues and once again running kinda low on cash i decided to do something that is low budget but still kinda cool (me thinks). Over here in holland its pretty common for the lads that have a c-kadett to stick in a 2.0 or 2.4 cih, and either run it with the L or LE jetronic injection system or twin webers or dellorto's.. Since the intake manifolds for those (carbs) cost around 170,- and carbs around 300,- (and the fact i sold my set in the past) i want to try something else,.. Since i had a couple of these manifolds lying around and since they arent worth much.. i mean who wants a single solex 35 pdsiT on their 2.0 or 1.6? when they can get atleast a 2stage Varajet or solex? I decided to start cutting them up to make my own manifolds to... run twin solex 35pdsiT's, w00t! Tommorow i'll make sure every part lines up etc, and next week it'll be welded. If all fails,.. i still have a complete LE jetronic injectikn system and an L jetronic system,.. but i feel i just have to give this a try..

Wow great build ! Love the things you do,(also) with a low knowledge(alhoewel ;-) and budget ! And...heee..the thing with an old inlet, I'm going to try the same with my standard Fiat inlet and ..also my twin Dellorto's...

Hey Willemm,.. replying after almost a year haha, did it work out? For me it didnt, the inlet manifold was made of molded aluminium, way too brittle. Anyhow since this is pretty much the place where i document my build,.. I have some progress Thanks to my dad i found a cool little motorcycle garage not far from my home who's owner was willing to help me out with some welding for a decent price. So after ordering some parts i started cutting and fitting and the guy welded it up for me. Day 1 Day 2 Finally something done that was on the to do list a long time! Coming weekend i'll ptobaby finish it up with some antirust stuff and some black sticky stuff,. Things like better carbs will come later, as she runs fine and i want to focus on the bodywork first.. we'll see what comes next. slowly but surely this 'low budget' build is progressing
