First of all, allow me to be a cynic - I'm not the biggest fan of this show. I generally find it to be a lot of the same cars and stands with very little that could ever be considered ground-breaking or fresh. That said, I've done the show seven times now, working during most visits, so, well, maybe its broken me a bit. On the whole, I did enjoy it more this year than I have of late, probably as I've not been for two years. But anyway, I digress. You see this year, my oh my. I laid eyes on an Anglia which simply blew my fuzzy little mind. I can't remember the last time I saw craftsmanship or build quality like it. It was utterly perfect. The choice of colour is inspired and is not the sort of hue one would associate with a car of this ilk. The interior is a work of art, just mind-blowing stuff from top to bottom. The wheels were pretty damn cool too, playing on what would have been under the capacious arches of the standard car. Regrettably I only had my iPhone, and the car was swarmed with people. However, I did get these shots of it. Word on the street is that it's already been snagged for a feature or too, which I for one can't wait to see. If anyone knows any more, I'd like to be further educated. I only go to the show to catch up with people I rarely see, but this year, I can safely say that this little green slice of awesome made the day for me. Chris

Hi Chris, yeh saw that yesterday, lovely thing. I also thought the orange pick up looked the nuts as well, it's the one in the back ground of one of your pics. A lot of stuff in that area of the show was very nice

Damn well hope it's a bit more fun than that, when I've got to leave at this stupid time of day to get there! (half five, for the record) I'll reserve judgement on whether an Anglia can be car of the show for he next few hours, or if it's just burnout in the OP, lol

UPDATE: Yep, it's pretty bloody awesome! Especially the interior, superb! For me the car of the show, however would have to be the Maserati 250F on (oddly) the Freemasons stand arguably not really fair to compare a nearly priceless GP racer with a home-made buildup, but there you go. I'd agree that there seemed less to love about this years' show, however... until I got home and found I had 800 photos and most of them are of pretty amazing cars. And yeah, Awesome Anglia is awesome

Loved that Anglia, however my car of the show was the white Maserati Quattroporte prototype. The guy on the stand was almost visibly shaken when we registered disappointment that the suspension went up 6" when the engine started...

that maserati was very cool at that ride height!, my car of the show was the unfinished 70's Skyline 2000gt on the gtr stand, a very genuine oh my god moment

that maserati was very cool at that ride height!, my car of the show was the unfinished 70's Skyline 2000gt on the gtr stand, a very genuine oh my god moment It was amazing, one of only two road cars in the country (apart from the demo racer that was at the Gathering). The bloke was very nonchalant about it, when we asked if he had all the stuff to complete it we just got a shrug and an "I do bits when I can be bothered otherwise it just sits in a corner of the workshop"! If that was mine I'm not sure I'd have taken three years to find the time and motivation to finish it The necessary skills would be another matter, of course...

That Skyline was one of two cars that made me go "Oh!" out loud when I saw it. The other was the Morris Traveller with the extra door and the split tailgate, very nicely done and quite subtle. Was quite interesting walking around the show with my Dad, a couple of the ex-Merseyside Police cars he's pretty sure he drove when they were active on duty, and there was an Avenger that he's convinced he PDI'd when he was foreman at a Rootes garage
