I was asked a few weeks ago by my 83 yr old Aunt if I'd help clear out her shed and garage her other half was a serial hoarder and boy oh boy yesterday I saw the fruits of his hobby a full day saw only a third of the shed emptied, i've got 8 trolley jacks, loads of old school tools, big spanners, old fire extinguishers, and 7 concertina tool boxes so far. theres so much stuff i'm steadily building a "scrap man" pile of stuff thats too rusted but where is best to move all this stuff on for her?? my first thought was car boot as people can see whats there (sadly that means me doing the car boot too any other ideas please feel free to suggest i'm in Doncaster if anyone is interested in taking a look at the stuff too once its all sorted, thanks

I've paid decent money for old quality spanners on eBay when I was after Imperial stuff. BS / Whitworth especially desirable as a lot of the new stuff available isn't the best so "period" tools are in demand. What about an autojumble rather than car boot ?

Nah it's all worthless, drop it off to me and I'll dispose of it!
Seriously would say best prices would be ebay but you'd likely need to split to individual spanners etc to get a better price and keep postage low. And then become good mates with the lady at the post office.
Big stuff like jacks make collection only, and have photos and details to hand so next time they do a free listing weekend you can stick them on to start at a decent price, rather than pay listing fees for them not to sell, or list at 99p and risk time wasters etc for a whole 99p.
Autojumble next best bet but need to find one?

on here ?? I did consider it but thought postage would cripple any sales. I'll get a list and photos as I'd much rather pass onto decent folk on here than eBay messers Thanks for the suggestions chaps

If you wouldn't mind dropping me either some pics or details of what you have to move along, I'd be happy to have a nosey and perhaps offer a bit of Pony Expressway down to the lower end of Lincolnshire.

Likewise, I'm always on the lookout for garage stuff (one can never have too many tools, right??). When you've got some kind of order to it, I'll come and take a look (and offer my Pony Express services!) to Derby/Nottingham

Thanks again chaps. I'll be sure to photo everything and list it on here first. I'd much rather it go to like minded folk so I feel much happier about the task now. Update to follow
