A guy has raised enough to make a short film based around the Hillsborough disaster and is needing a bit of help for some older cars to appear in it, I don't even know if he can pay but the film will help raise awareness and of the terrible cover up that took place, an inquiry which is still ongoing. All I have is a link to his films pledge page so if any kind North West people want to offer some assistance please get in touch with him.

May be worth pointing out was in 1989 iirc so stuff from that era in terms of cars I suppose ??

Be interesting to see how picky he is with cars, baring in mind that Sheffield when I was a kid was poor/rough. More likely to see a brand new Sierra GLX up on bricks with no wheels or full of yoof heading towards the Manor haha.

My 1985 VW Polo Coupe is in the condition of a 4yo car and totally original in appearance. By the time its up there the front wheels would have some brake dust on them.
A Nova SR would be better, of course..

I can't think anyone anyone with any sense would have left a brand new motor outside the Hillsborough ground when there was a match on to be honest.... |

If there's filming taking part in Sheffield my Viceroy could fit the bill. Its a bit rough around the edges, possibly too rough for what would have been an eight year old car at the time, but it's period correct at least.

Just thinking back to what Sheff was like at this point, Hillsborough hadn't gone posh, the pits had all been shut and the steel works had all gone, apart from the people who used all their redundancy money on a new car from memory car wise there was a lot of hanging 70's stuff and early 80's cortinas with rotten wings etc, but there was also a smattering of 'posher' motors older jags mainly from when people had had decent paying jobs.
A mate used to still regularly fetch e-types from out of Sheffield just prior to this.

Having looked into the film it looks as though the film is all but entirely set in Liverpool and not Sheffield at all, however, I'm guessing that similar rules would apply with cars.

If any of you are within an hour of Liverpool and have a car which would typically have been on the road in 1989 then we would love to hear from you - we can cover reasonable mileage expenses and offer you a great experience of having your car parked in a scene from the film. disaster unfolded for one family back home in Liverpool.
Produced by Jessica Levick who's first feature documentary PERSONAL
BEST was released in cinemas in 2012, and Directed by independent
Liverpool filmmaker Mike Forshaw, the film tells the story through the
eyes of LIAM, whose older brother MARK is at the match.
The overriding purpose of this film is to continue to spread the truth
and to add to the support behind the justice campaign. As the 25th
anniversary of the disaster approaches next year, we want to
commemorate those who lost their lives and remember all those still
affected.
