Hello, my car started out as a phase 1 1.6 gti. The previous owner fitted the alloy block version of the 1.9 mi16 engine from a 405. The alloy engine produces 160bhp and is lighter than the iron block version of the mi16 engine. No bangs, rattles, smoking or burning oil. The car uses the 1.6 gearbox as this provides better acceleration compared to the 1.9 box. This engine and gearbox are a great combination in a 205. The car has been registered with the DVLA as a 1.9 and its costing me £160 to insure. I have the V5.
It has the Goodwood 1.9 alloys which are in good condition. The tyres are all Goodyear Eagle F1 which all have loads of tread on, as seen in one of the pictures. It's got the half leather seats from the 1.9 which are in reasonable condition. All of the electric works.
I have some spares which include, exhaust back box and middle section, a set of 1.9 rear quarter badges ( it's currently badged as a 1.6, keep it like this if you want to embarrass much more expensive cars), a pair of 306 gti-6 front calipers. This calipers can be used to upgrade to larger fronts pads and discs. The car has an immobiliser operated by a fob, I don't know what make it is.
The paint work lets the car down. There is some lacquer peel on the roof and on the o/s rear quarter, on the bonnet someone has badly attempted to sort out some rust caused by stone chips and there are some rust patches, as shown in the pictures.
This car is noisy and fast. You could strip out the interior and this would make a rapid and very cheap trackday car.
I'd ideally like cash (£1200) for spend on my other project but if you have something interested swap wise let me know.
