Daily golf failed the MOT on a brake flexy up front and rear axle bushes - I was expecting MEGA problems with all the rear brake pipes in getting the axle off, but that all came apart no problems. Then onto the front, and the bleed nipple is 100% seized in the caliper so obviously I snapped it off. So I need a new caliper ASAP. A recon one is £90 which is mental.
I seem to recall there being a VW1 and VW 2 caliper or something, and they are swappable over a load of vehicles.
The car is a 1.9 NA diesel 1996 mk3 golf - Its got solid tiny disks and the caliper carrier is cast right into the hub - Everything is just like on my old 1999 Lupo, but the Lupo calipers looked a bit different.
This is what I got:
There's loads of very similar looking VW Lupo calipers on ebay for £20 or so, but nothing listed as fitting a golf. Are they likely to fit? I know the hub carriers are very similar and stuff.
