I'd never have the balls to drive that, but I think that's utterly bonkers and utterly gorgeous.

I'd never have the balls to drive that, but I think that's utterly bonkers and utterly gorgeous. Oddly enough I was expecting it to be owned by a fashionable laydee Not some big Tattooed bloke giving to fingers no disrespect to the big tattooed chap mind, it is very well done

Thanks for reposting it on here Paul , I'm totally in agreement with you on this matter . I love the colours and custom touches that used to be all over the air cooled / mini truck / street machine scene back in the late 80's / early 90's . Apricot , peppermint green , yellows , pink and a whole range of other pastel colours are due a comeback . The Thump thump bugs with targa tops , pillarless styling , flush fit bumpers etc were super innovative at the time and still stand out today ( probably even more so ! )

You've been telling me you were a genius since you were seventeen ... in all the time I've known you I still don't know what you mean !

Those first two pictures are excellent, I wonder what wheels they are? I love the purple grille. This thread has winning content.

October 2011 this turned up at the Leeds meet (mk14dr's photos)... It was a car that made me look twice at something I wouldn't normally give a second look, it seems fitting to drop it in this thread.

Thing is, it'd be pretty rare for any of these smooth Softfruit style 90s cars to have ever looked this good back in the day. Takes a lot of conviction to see something like that through to the finished product and it's a pretty uncompromising style. With other things it's easier to cut corners and get away with it, but you can't really do that with the supersmooth 90s look and expect to see anything other than an automotive abortion. I have the greatest respect for those guys that have gone the whole hog and got it right. That pastel Saxo highlights just the sort of conviction to theme that's needed to make something look really good that otherwise wouldn't. Imagine how terrible that might look without the colour coded wheels and smoothed out trim. Even having the pressed plates is a nice, subtle touch and those rear lights look more at home on that car than I've ever seen them on tackier 'chav chariots', I'd be hard pressed to think of a set of lights more suited.

Remember the days when sex was safe and motorsport was dangerous. Vintage bling always attracts pussy.

The MK2 Scirocco is pure '80s. I had two, both 1.8's one Zender kitted and one naked, loved them, great cars.
'90s though and i have no faith. I knew this era of reflection would come, and i'm dreading it. We're talking about a time when panel gaps and crash testing became the focus - and building such a car meant cutting corners elsewhere. Like rustproofing, for example..
An ex car trader who has owned more '90s cars than of any other era, i can honestly say i don't miss the many i have had, and when '90s cars are truly cool then i'll still be driving a lightweight '80s one. Thankfully i don't expect such a trend to last.

The quality of the VAGs are out of this world. The dub scene has a really high standard, I love quality modded dubs. The Volvo is hard as nails

I dream of using the 17" Antera three spokes I've got on a super low neo-90's style Daewoo Espero...... TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL!
|
|
Sierra - here we go again! He has an illness, it's not his fault.

Science has proven with the following formula that your idea is not the result of a serious illness: Espero + three-spokes = win
So with the power of Science, what I've shown is that you need to purchase an Espero to put on those Anteras.
