Guys, I'm trying to find a set of tyres 215/50/15 but I just can't seem to find any at a decent price. Does anyone know where I might be able to get them without breaking the bank. It used to be easy to buy them but it seems only two companies make them now :-(

205/50/15 is standard wear on the back of an MGF so should be cheap and plentiful. Just a thought!

yeah 205s are ok on an 8, I run em on a 9, though its a bit of a stretch, 205mm is 8 inch, though the rim width is bead to bead, so you may get the slightest bit of stretch, but not noticable really edit 205/50/15 on 15x8s . EDIT: Just for VIP

Fantastic! I've heard mixed reports whether it's ok or not. I found this pic of a quattro and thought the 205 tyres looked fine. Your Falkens look much better though :-)

though the rim "j" is bead to bead, I tried. I really, REALLY tried! But I can't let it go... NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO! 'J' is not a measure of width!

It's ok to say I am wrong but at least correct me so I know in future... The letter (or letters) after the number on a wheel specification designate the tyre bead profile (or shape) of the rim that the tyre sits against. However it has erroneously grown to be referred to as a designation of width, a replacement of " if you will. A 7Jx15 wheel is a 7" wide 15" diameter wheel with a J tyre bead profile. From Car Bibles

I think I've found the tyres I'm going to get. 215/45r15 instead of 50r15 They look like this on a quattro, what do you guys think?
