I'm after another MX5, I currently have a Mk2 with LSD that I want to develop a bit but the shell is a mess. So I'm either on the hunt for a shell and some bits or another car to use as the base.
The car I have is a 1999 1.8IS so LSD and the 1.8 engine, it's mechanically spot on, so not bothered about engine/gearbox/diff condition of any car/collection of bits, can be a rolling shell/complete car/1.6/1.8/blown engine etc. Of course another straight 1.8IS would be nice!!
So where do I want this project to go? Well basically I'm aiming to end up with an orange MK2.5 looking car wearing the enkei 5 spokes. Using the LSD and probably engine from my car.
So at the very least I'm after a MK2/MK2.5 shell. I need boot, bonnet and doors and ideally front wings. I also need front bumper from a 2.5 and front lights from the same. What I am thinking is that I could be the ideal person for someone breaking an MX5 to build a kit car as the bits I want they won't.
I would also be very interested in a mk2/mk2.5 complete car, maybe an mot failure, maybe a complete MOT running car, all I ask is no accident damage, these cars are fragile and the panel gaps are never the same after a prang.
In return I have a very nice 1998 BMW 323 (2.5L, 170BHP). Black with full black leather sports interior. All the usual toys including Traction control, electric windows/mirrors, bmw business CD, M-sport steering wheel, 16" Style 45 wheels (possibly the best wheels on these they really modernise the car without looking out of place) including full size spare, genuine BMW full complete toolkit, first aid kit, fire extinguisher.
Lots of other nice features, not a chavved up e36 everthing on there is original factory spec. New brake dics and pads all round, serviced every 3k, the car isn't perfect but it is 15 years old, not rotten like most out there, the usual scratches and light marks. Can discuss condition in great detail if someones interested. Value probably around a grand, it being a cracker possibly slightly more but not many make more, this cars big bonus is it does 35mpg (genuine real world mileage, not going off the dash gauge which is seemingly accurate as it reads the same) is very practical with fold down rear seats, unbelievably comfy front sports leather seats, absolutely reliable, not had a single problem with this car and been all over the country in it, I love the car it's so much fun to drive and sounds gorgeous. Just taxed and MOTd so nearly a year of both.
I don't really want to get rid of the BMW but my 944 is a very similar car and I don't want to sell that so sadly the BM needs to go.
This isn't really a sale thread and I'm afraid I only want a swap with a MK2 on mx5 (sorry a MK1 is no use to me).
