Got home at around 11 via Grimsby this morning, to collect a "good" battery en-route, swapped cars to the Xantia and ran it over to work to collect the Ax. Arrive in plenty of time only to realise I'd forgotten the new battery, so had to jump start the Ax and do the nipsy-twitching fuel light lottery all the way home, to swap again with the C5 and go and attempt to tax the Ax.
It is a bad omen I think when things go this well, with only a small portion of my home made spare wheel carrier making a bid for freedom and getting a tax disc without having to drag the desk jockey through the small gap in the post office window, things have been very easy thus far.
This evening sees us trying to force a metric f'kton of gear into the little Ax ready for the trip tomorrow.
Hope to see you all there.

Thought I wouldn't be able to go due to a bent hub.
Got that sorted quicker than expected so decided to take the 205, today has been spent hiding under my car port giving it a machine polish and fluid change. A 300 mile round trip isn't that much so hopefully the old Peugeot will fare well.

Went to go and wash the Trumpet last night. Disaster! Ran out of car shampoo Finished it off with a little fairy liquid instead. Even t-cutted some of the oily hand prints off it

Can't go due to domestic taxi duties. Hope to go to a local classics thing for an hour or so, but looking forward to the gathering pics... Maybe next year I can go (in the Beta hopefully).

Well I'm pleased to say the Ax made it home safe, we did slope off a bit early as I was worried about the CV joint that had been merrily clattering it's way to oblivion on the way to the gathering, and got gradually worse on the way home.
Well, ok, it might have have had something to do with dispatching an impatient cocknozzle in a nearly new Hyundai Plastocrap who couldn't bear being behind an old shed. I like to think it was worth it, I've got a few ideas in mind, so who knows I might keep it another year yet!

The good news is the Hunter got back under it's own power - collecting flat tyre number 3 on the way #4 waited until I was back on the drive at home, I went to undo the dustcap and the valvecore snapped out ot the rim so the tyre went 0 psi flat while I was looking at it Lesson learned - take a footpump and AT LEAST 2 spare tyres next time Cheers
