been lurking on this forum for a while now so i thought i'd share my car, its a 1989 mk2 fiesta pop+ to be fair its nothing special and i don't really have much planned for it yet but i will soon! It's a nice tidy car with a few little upgrades such as the XR2 bumpers, spoiler, spots, dash and the rs 4 spokes. anyway enough talking i'm expecting 'holy arch gap!' and 'lower it!' comments but i don't like lowered cars! Yes thats right! i like my comfort I'm thinking about doing the inserts of the wheels white too, need some opinions on this cheers

ooohh very clean, the wheels... I prefer the black inserts, but whatever you prefer go with it, it's your car! And I have a question, do them wheels have any problem being for a rwd escort on a fwd fiesta?

i've never had problems with the wheels, i had them fitted on my mk1 before this and they were fine. The only thing you have to watch is the tyre sizes, anything over 165 and they rub the standard arches Oh and i had to put 5mm spacers on the front to stop them hitting the calipers

Cheers ill admit it does have a bit of bubbling on 1 rear arch but its a ford so it's expected. I'm thinking about taking the rubber strip off the sides, not sure if its going to bring the paint off too though

I'm thinking about taking the rubber strip off the sides, not sure if its going to bring the paint off too though I did it to mine and it leaves alot of sticky black rubber stuff that I used a toffee wheel to get off and I can still see the marks on the side so I would probably leave it if I was you unless its going for a respray soon.. my threads here , the part where I took the strips off is end of page 1 over to 2

Hmm I think the marks might stand out more on a white car Nice fez btw red is my favourite colour for them

cheers mate i'm a bit gutted today, the girlfriend is away for a week which means the only thing too keep me entertained is the fezzy, so i went for a drive this morning and my downpipe decided to snap It's off the road till tuesday now which is a bummer. the worst part is i left a brand new downpipe in the boot of my mk1 when i sold it a few months back had to tie it up with my tow rope, made it home alright though

I repaired the sills when I got the car and had the rear 1/4s sprayed by a good friend that does amazing work, but the day he did mine was definitely his time of the month No biggy though, ill get it sorted before it gets any worse

That looks great in my opinion as its not been over done but the touches you have made make a huge difference I wouldnt lower it either, they are brilliant little cars too.

I'm more of a function>form person so the money i put into my cars is to aid performance rather than looks It handles really well on the standard suspension so i'm leaving the springs, maybe a set of gas adjustable shocks in the future? I'm definitely fitting an anti roll bar soon though and a full set of polybushes at the same time, should be like a little go kart I've been having thoughts about selling it recently, i've only ever had mk1 and mk2 fiesta's since i started driving (pic of my mk1 below) so i'm a little bored of them. I get my car taste from my dad, we restore cars together and after coming across photo's of his old cars i've taken a liking to an audi 80, especially after seeing the photo of the one he rolled 3 times and walked away from, it sort of inspires confidence. Hardest part is finding one, i need a 1.6 for insurance reasons (i'm only 18) and the only ones i can find are 2.0+ my mk1

took the downpipe off this morning, its paper thin! I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. I'm also surprised the previous owner fitted a whole new system except the downpipe new one ordered so it should be here this afternoon hopefully. Also ordered a backflash for a bit of retro coolness!
