That chase scene is fcking STUNNING. I don't know how many times I have seen it but it still gives me goose bumps every time.

I was really impressed by the car chase in Quantum Of Solace. Everyone else seemed to slag it, and the rest of the film off. It's not the best of the Daniel Craig Bond films, but it certainly wasn't curse word. There was a really snotty critique in Evo saying the whole chase was b*llocks 'because the DBS couldn't get away from the 159s and in real life they wouldn't see which way it went'. On a straight road maybe, but it was a mountain road through a tunnel pass. Even if there was a massive difference in the performance of the two cars (which there is) with unpredictable traffic and tight corners you're not going to be able to put that much space between you, even if you're a decent driver. The DBS rolled at Millbrook for Casino Royale was a DB9 development hack dressed up to look like a DBS, wasn't it? |

Cool pics, Mr Bizzle sir! I thought the opening of Quantum of Solace was excellent, rather like the Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift, if they'd stuck to that it would have been an awesome film. Sadly, it all went to shhhhhh as soon as the "plot" kicked in and the kicking start was wiped out by the dross that followed  . The disappointment stings worse because they showed such promise. Like, why would the bad guy build his citadel out in the middle of the desert... out of a material slightly more inflammable than any substance known to science?  They had both these Astons on display at the Beaulieu Motor Museum as part of the Bond exhibition, they're impressive pieces of movie motoring memorabilia. The QoS one in particular looks amazingly authentic, it doesn't look "dressed" so much as it looks like they really did shoot a DBS full of bullet holes and scrape it along a cliff     Wasn't the Casino Royale car guilty of the most rolls ever committed to film? It certainly held up pretty well, considering. I love the cheeky bits of carbon peeking out like little coquettish bits of garter or something. Or is that just my own perversion?   |

They had real trouble getting it to roll at all, as far a I remember it took an air cannon firing straight down in the end
