Hi Folks,
Basically, think my BMW has a bit of a fuel leak.
I put £50 in on Saturday and drove it about no problem. Car drove fine and when parked up no noticeable issues.
Last night I brimmed it full, drove back from petrol station and parked up. I opened the back door to get something off the back seat and got a strong whiff of petrol. I went round to the NSR of the car (where the tank is) and there was some very small drops of fuel on the floor, had a look underneath and the bottom of the tank were saturated and it appeared to be dripping down the side of it.
Anyway I left the car popped out for an hour, came back and all was dry, including the tank.
I've taken it for a run out today and was watching carefully in my mirrors to see if it was leaking whilst I was driving, but nothing obvious on the roads. I've driven it up and down my road a few times as well and no sign of fuel on the floor.
Parked up, locked the car went round to the NSR and lo and behold fuel on the floor, looked underneath exactly the same symptoms.
I started the car back up again at this point and I don't know whether it is a coincidence or what but it stopped dripping and hasn't dripped since.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
