FOR SALE
An original E30 BMW 325i Touring in condition 3, 12 months MOT, 4 months tax. NO RESERVE!
EQUIPMENT
Alloy wheels, colour coded door mirrors and bumpers, twin halogen headlamps, front driving lamps, headlamp wipers, rear wash/wipe, laminated windscreen, trip computer, electric sunroof, electric front windows, central locking, headlamp level adjustment, 4-speed fan, lockable glovebox, Blaupunkt stereo, Alpina steering wheel, sports seats, check control panel, cigar lighter, econometer, heated rear window.
EXTERIOR
This BMW is finished in original BMW Brilliant Red. The paintwork is in fair condition, although there are various areas where the paint finish has faded and lost its shine. There are numerous minor paint imperfections, scratches and scuffs throughout the car commensurate with the age and mileage. Structurally the car is fairly good with no evidence of weld repairs underneath having been done, or being required. The lower sections of the front wings have corroded and holed and will require attention in the future. The wheel arches although sound have suffered from parking damage and have been touched up in the past. There is cosmetic damage to the front offside corner affecting the wing, bumper and lower valance. A blanking plate next to the nearside front driving lamp is missing, along with a thin section of trim around the upper section of the rear window. An exterior well worth investing some time and effort to achieve vast improvements easily.
INTERIOR
The interior of this classic E30 is generally quite good. Factory upgrades from standard specification includes sports front seats and an Alpina leather trimmed steering wheel. The seats and carpets are largely clean and free from significant wear, although the drivers seats has suffered wear to the upper bolster and seat back where the material has worn right through. The dashboard and all switchgear are in excellent condition, and everything works as it should apart from the electric adjustment to the passenger door mirror due to the mirror and housing being damaged. All gauges operate well and show healthy readings, as does the BMW check control panel. The inspection lamp is illuminated. The headlining whilst intact has dropped above the boot and rear seat area, however fixing this back up seems to be quite possible. The central locking operates but the drivers door lock barrel has failed so locking and unlocking must be done from the passenger door. The cigar lighter has never been used. An electric wheelchair/scooter hoist is mounted in the boot from the previous elderly owner and is still operational. This will remain in the car, but can easily be removed.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The legendary six cylinder in-line BMW engine producing 168hp at 5800rpm performs exactly as it should, being silky smooth whilst pulling extremely well. There appears to be a slight exhaust blow. The automatic transmission with sport mode operates beautifully and changes are seamless.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 14in BMW alloy wheels are in average condition and look quite presentable, apart from some areas of lacquer peel. Tyres fitted are 195/65 R14 and have a fair amount of tread remaining. The brakes feel assured and bring the car up to a straight and steady halt.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 21st November 1989, the car has had just four owners from new. The most recent owner having had the car since 2002 has now retired from driving due to his advanced years. Regrettably, the service history has been misplaced apart from the last two MOT certificates and the V5 document which are present. This vehicle really is suitable for someone looking for a useable and interesting modern classic, with the opportunity to make easy improvements, or as a source of spares parts for an on-going project.
The vehicle is sold with 12 Months MOT, 4 months tax and is HPI Clear.
This vehicle is being sold with NO RESERVE. There is NO BUY IT NOW price and the auction WILL NOT be ended early. The vehicle WILL NOT be sold anywhere else other than eBay. The highest bidder whatever the price will be the lucky new owner!
Restrictions have been placed on who can bid, (i.e. you must have a PayPal account for example). If your bid is blocked please make contact in the first instance and we can authorise your account.
Personal or independent inspections/test drives are recommended and happily accommodated.
