I know about 99% of the time sale threads start off with "It kills me to do this", but never has a truer sentence been said as it has in this case. This car is my absolute pride and joy, but needs must and I have to let it go. I purchased the car around 3 years ago completely standard and since then have had some awesome times with it. I'll list the usual good and bad and hopefully let the images do the talking. Please contact me via either PM or email, I get emails through on my phone so I should be able to reply relatively fast.
THE GOOD.
- Just under 98k on the clock, engine has NEVER caused me issues and all the gauges display all the right signs. If maintained this engine is good for another 98k+ miles.
- K-Sport Coilovers - Purchased brand new and done around 1000 miles. I'm not sure if you're familiar with MR2 coilovers but, they ain't easy to find and if you do find them they ain't cheap!
- Brand New Wheels & Tyres. Wheels are unfortunately unbranded - 16x8j up front, and 16x9j at the back. Unsure of the offset but they are relatively low. (Car is not running spacers). Tyres are good ol Nankangs, they get slated but they are great budget tyres. Both wheels and tyres have covered about 1000 miles and are in new condition. The centres were painted by myself, although it's not the worst job, it's certainly not the best. Easy to paint yourself though. Wheels are NOT split rims.
- 2x Bride Brix bucket seats, although they have tears (see images), they still keep you held in place and look ace. I feel the wear and tear adds to the experience!
- Japanese Import back lights
- Powerflow Exhaust system - Sounds incredible, a proper little "whap whap" maker!
- Fibreglass front wings - They don't rust, BUT they need a bit of work to fit better.
- 1x Genuine Takata harness
- New back arches (See the bad section below)
- Half cage with harness bar
- Aftermarket steering wheel, unknown brand but it's the coolest steering wheel I've owned. It's small and perfectly round. Adds to the go-kart experience!
- Jimi bracket fitted (This cleans the look up of the engine bay by rehousing the throttle cable). I'll include freshly painted in blue cam covers also.
- Brand New Battery
- Brand New Alternator
- Brand New Waterpump
- Brand New Front Crash Bar
- Front Strut Brace (from t-bar model)
- K & N Panel Filter
- Sunroof Shade
- V5 in my name and lots of receipts and service history
- MK1a front splitter attached to MK1b splitter for ultimate lows! Bends about so speedbump friendly!
- If you live local, or if you're willing to travel then I will also give the buyer full access for 6 months to my hydraulic ramp for any work they wish to do to that car.
Like I said, the engine pulls absolutely fine and everything does as it should. The ride is a little harsh due to the coilovers but the handling is great. I believe the car could go lower but the front wings would need shaved and the back arches rolled.
THE BAD.
- The most obvious one is paint, the car needs a full respray (Looks great from a far, but far from good).
- Back Arches, although they have been rebuilt with new arch kits, I never got round to properly filling and painting them. Unfortunately they have now started to crack, They needs properly filled and sanded.
- Rust, I'm not going to lie to you, the car has rust. I wouldn't class any of it as terminal though, it's all surface that just needs brought back down to the bare metal and painted. Again though, if you respray the car it will be lush!
- Sometimes when the car has been sitting I find the rear drivers side caliper binds a bit, you can hear it rub for a short while and then everything is fine.
- The hardbrake needs looking at, It does work but could be a lot tighter.
- The alarm/immobiliser fob is falling to bits, it's basically just the bare PCB with a better attached. I'm pretty certain you could take it to someone and have a replacement made, It's never bothered me though as I keep the car locked up and secure.
- When I got the car I only had one key, it was very temperamental for me and I couldn't work out why. It turns out half the key had snapped inside the barrel and any time I managed to get the car to start, it was because I had lined up the two bits perfectly. I've now replaced the ignition barrel and have a brand new fully working key. The only issue is the key doesn't match the doors or boot unfortunately.
- No rear fog light. You can wire a fog into one of the reverse lights, I just never got round to doing this.
- Windscreen has a leak at the top, I stupidly tried to fix this with sealant and made a bit of a mess. You will need to cut that out, for now I have some clear tape over it. I would suggest just getting a new windscreen!
- No horn, one of those things I never got round to sorting. Easy enough to wire up, all the wires are there under the horn section. The Boss kit doesn't seem to round it well enough so you will need to use a ground from a different location.
I'm open to offers and will listen to them all. The main reason is I'm looking for a van for my business, I may be interested in a trade if you have something I believe will work for me. Straight trade, cash my way or cash your way, I'll listen to everything.
I've no doubt left something out, if you need to ask anything then please just get in touch.
