right ...the above engine fits a omega box right?omega being gm do you reckon the manual box from a isusu trooper would fit (aisin ar5) as these boxes are fitted to the saturn sky ,another gm product, and they use gm engines en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturn_Skysaturn sky/opel gt just a thought as these withstand 353 nm of torque aisin ar5 gearboxmight be a better option for RWD swaps ...........what you reckon

Is it the b234 your refering to? Yes it fits the omega box, but as you probably know even in standard tune the box can't take the torque of that engine. I have no idea about the trooper box, but people are using BMW box's as these are very strong, but its not a straight forward conversion. See this forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1193496-M3-Aero/page2

Troopers are V6 aren't they? Probably be the wrong bellhousing pattern if so.

It has to be a Saab engine made after 1994 for this to work. Basically GM standardised the bolt-up patterns for all engines and transmissions so you'll find an awful lot of different stuff is just plug-n-play.
To be safe, I would start guessing with anything late 90's onwards as I know the standardisation was completed for Saab for 1994 onwards.
The thing to do is to just buy a cheap gearbox with an eye to selling it on should the bolt-up job not appear to be possible.

As I say... GM standardised the bell-housings in the mid-90s. You could probably even use a Corvette gearbox if it came from the right era.

I hear people saying that they wont take the power. But i still havent actually seen one thats gone pop. I'm on most of the vauxhall forums and theres tuned v6`s that have no bother. Have a look at johnny A`s carlton on here with the z20let engine with the v6 box, think thats kicking out over 300bhp. Just make sure you get an actuall v6 box and not a 2.0 box.

I don't know anyone running an omega box with anything bigger than the stock td04 turbo which shouldn't make enough torque to kill the box. Everyone I've sold bits to seems to think the box can't cope but I've not heard of a failure yet. The escort I wired up for Ppc mag had a decent sized blower on it so il find out when it gets mapped . The only option that fits the bill is the xe to t5 bellhousing but not a cheap option . I have an adaptor plate to fit a v6 type 9 box but I don't have any info on what those boxes can take .
