Just bought this on eBay for over a grand, if you're quick before I change my mind you can take it off my hands for less. Ready to drive away!
Good bits:
12 months MoT
Taxed till end of June
95000 miles,
some service history to about 60000 miles,
lots of old MoTs,
all the handbooks,
original bill of sale
It's HPI clear,
Leaping cat on the bonnet,
A/C regassed last week,
Lovely colour with great paint,
Around 40mpg average and 55-60 on a run!
Cheap insurance (£500 for me 29 with 3 years no claims - not much more than the Lada!)
Bad points:
Firstly the key is stuck in the ignition, hardly visible from outside and the car locks on the other key no problem. a breaker on ebay has quoted me £20 for a new barrel and key but to be honest ive been enjoying the novelty of not having to put the key in the ignition! Easy swap by all accounts though. It apparently has a slow drain on the battery if left for 3 days or so but I've not noticed a problem yet. left it for 2 days and it was fine when I went to work in it. The seller told me it had a rough idle when cold, it actually just has a rough idle generally that improves slightly when it's warm. My mate is a bit of a Jag XJ6 expert and assures me it'll be no problem as they are bullet proof engines and it'll be a a tired sparkplug or something (so I've ordered a new set which will come with the car) but as we're imminently moving house and I've just got onto a uni course I've decided I was a bit rash buying it and now it requires me looking at it a bit and I just don't have the time or patience to be messing with a car at the moment. It drives as smooth as silk and you only know there's a miss when you come to a stop as you can feel it rocking a tiny bit. It's an absolute joy to drive but I literally have no time whatsoever to play with it so I'm making the rash decision to sell her before I have to pay my insurance premium at the beginning of June. I'll just keep it if no one fancies a luxury cruiser that averages 40+ to the allon by then! Real fuel consumption hasn't dropped below 23.5mpg around town and with LPG half price you just almost double the figures and smile! it really is cheap to run! Averaged 34mpg on the way back from Llandudno when I picked it up last week!! I'll be very sad to see this disappearing around the corner with its new owner but I'm silly and bought a car at a very silly time.
