Hey folks, trying out some social share buttons in order to make it easier to show your friends our awesomesauce  Tell me if they are obnoxious and annoying. |

Twitter one's good. Facebook one does odd things to Firefox. Buttons aren't intrusive or annoying though, probably prove to be a useful addition. |

Facebook one opens a while new page in Opera...which is interesting.

I don't like that they'r fixed and stay where they are when scrolling... I'm on a few pro board uprated sites - BHRA etc, and they are all the same in the 'story breaking' stuff still a massive improvement loving the home page that is wicked as young sorts would say |

I don't like that they'r fixed and stay where they are when scrolling... They're not fixed in my browser, they move as I scroll. **edit** Actually, I think I misunderstood what you meant. You mean you don't like that they're fixed on the page so that they're always on the left wherever you scroll to? I think that's a plus, means you don't have to scroll back up if you want to share something. Facebook one opens a while new page in Opera...which is interesting. It opens up a new tab in Firefox, but reduces the window size to about an eighth of the screen! Not disastrous, just odd. |

In the control panel for ShareThis there are options where you can remove some of the buttons or change the position of it on the screen.
I like them on the left like this, but I'd consider removing the email, LinkedIn and Pinterest options since they tend to confuse and clutter. I think most people would share on FB or Twitter.
The font wrapping to the next line is annoying but it happens whenever I implement one of these bloody things and I think it's to do with it inheriting the stylesheets on the site.
The only issue I see is that ShareThis has become a victim of it's own success and is now really slow to load!
Whole site is a big improvement by the way.

I can't find a 'Share This' control panel either. I see the share buttons, but if I click on the bottom one (the green ShareThis link) I still don't get any options for removing or repositioning the buttons/panel.

Yeah, sorry I was talking about the control panel for the site admin. It's not something you can personalise, everyone will see it in the same place with the same buttons which is chosen by RR admin.

I've reduced the number of items for a start... I may look at seeing if I can make it part of the post layout, (at the bottom or top of posts) so it is less obtrustive... or look at some kind of clever cookie so people can hide it if it offends them that much.
