correct me if I'm wrong, but the BMW did return a quicker 1/4 mile time?
don't get me wrong, thats a quick favorit and I'm aware of all the work that has gone into it and take my hat off to the owner, but why do people have a fascination with trying to "prove" that their car is quicker than other bigger/more expensive/modern motors?
I realize its not everyone and that the owner was just wanting to try and see how his car ran and the luck of the draw ended him facing that BMW, but its this whole "we're skoda owners; we're sick of getting stick for our cars, so are going to prove how fast they really are by racing them against BMW's" thing that seems to engulf the Skoda scene. Just get over the winged-arrow and enjoy the car.
Its a Skoda at the end of the day. Surely, whether its modified or standard, its the car that matters not what it is faster than.
Once again though, can I stress my appreciation toward that car. It is a serious credit to the owner that it is so quick and I'd be immensely proud if it was mine. It is also worth noting how well it kept up with the BMW...
... What engine was in the BMW?

it'd be a different matter if the bm was that heavily modded (cant view vid but anyhow...)
but if you put an f1 engine into the skoda, and one into the bm... i mean, where do you stop? but Rob, the point is to embarrass and humiliate people, and don't forget people watching will go home and say 'that skoda beat the bmw' it matters not who ran what engines.
best idea is get yerself a skoda, and a bm, and live life in equal portions. tis fun i tell thee!

Its perhaps partly(maybe mostly) the reaction times? That Skoda sounds darn good tho!

lmao. quite quite.
i think its the whole matcho thing that you get everywhere that annoys me.
and credit again to the favorit owner. consider that is a 1.3 producing 60ish bhp, to get that level of performance is pretty damn good.

The BMW won. Have I missed the point somewhere? Thats what i thought. Wasn't eventhat close once the BMW owner had woken up. Can't help wondering why you'd take a standard BMW 7 series down the track though.

No suprise the BMW won... but what's been done to the Favorit? It certainly sounds rather nice! As far as I can tell its a LXiE, right? So 62bhp or something from the factory, any modifications other than lightening? I regcognise the car as Ken's, isnt it?

Ken drives that car with true spirit as we have seen at both Castle Combe and Curborough (we all loved the latter, the marshalls ended up just leaving him to go round until he got dizzy because it was amazing !!!!!) It was a bit unfair that he was up against serious power compared to his little 1.3,credit to him for having a go though
