This has been our family car since 1996, mostly used by my wife. Before then it belonged to her Dad and before that her late Grandfather who bought it brand new. That makes it a one-family from new car from new...a dream find! Or it would be if we'd looked after it...which we haven't. It's been used and abused to within an inch of it's life. It's soldiered on regardless of what we've thrown at it, on it or in it.
It's actually a rather rare beast, even when new as the estates were surprisingly unpopular, especially surprising considering their practicality. Twenty years down the line, they're rarer still. It's a 1600 Twin Cam which means it's quite spritely (although it's somewhat out of tune due to our if-it-ain't-broke attitude with this car!) and really rather economical. It's got electric windows (three of which work: a rear one doesn't and the front two need a gentle push!), an electric sunroof and central locking. Very recently, the front lights have become temperamental, and I've needed to fiddle with the connectors a bit. There is a CD/MP3 player, but whether that stays in is negotiable because it's better than the one in the missus' new car...it won't cost you extra, but might not stay if the price goes down.
It's got a bit of MOT left and is taxed until the end of April (tomorrow, as I write this). It qualifies for classic insurance in January (with Footman James, I called them).
The photos were taken in the rain last week and make it look shinier than it looks normally. I may give it a wash later and get some more pictures online. The body is reasonable for its age but some patches have escalated over the last year on the tailgate and front wing. It has the dents and scratches of a well used family car.
PM me for a number and I'll give anyone a thoroughly honest appraisal of the car and answer any questions. I'm flexible on price depending on who buys it and their intentions. Plans to lower it and/or increase power are favourable (the car has been subject to a spouse-imposed 'no lowering' contract in our ownership, this will not be passed on with the car). If you use txtspk or are impolite in the process of contacting me I will take this into consideration during negotiations or might not reply at all.
So there you have it. A tatty but reliable rare Sunny wagon that will drive anywhere, carry loads and all do it all whilst looking quite tatty.
edit: Price drop already!
