As title i'm after some assistance with polishing a black car. Is anyone out there able to assist. Now i'm not green to machine polishing and many years ago I used to paint for living however that was nearly 20 years ago and a lots moved on since then. I used to use Farecla G3 then G10 and then 3m final glaze..
Now to the question, I've been asked by a mate to polish his wifes black car (base coat and laquer finish) whats the best products out there to prevent he swirl marks that usually accompany such a process ??
Also whats best mop head etc to use. Links to actual sites or youtube videos appreciated. I've searched these and it's just a minefield of info and would prefer some recommendations..
Thanks for any assistance.

Personally thats what I use, been using that way for donkeys years TBH The only thing I would change is the Final glaze as I now use the Farecla Polish and I don't get swirl marks Dave

G3 is very abrasive for a fine cut, I'd try a panel with Meguires safe cut or G10 to see if you need to use G3.

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!

I can also recommend trying Meguiars #105. If the paintwork is quite bad, try 3M Fast Cut Plus with the matching green head. Being a diminishing compound it breaks down quite well, good enough to finish off a panel well . If you really feel the need to refine further, Meguiars #205 on a softer head will add that extra bit of bling. Considering how this car looked before, this seemed like a result with the above process (I really should have used 3M Fast Cut Plus which IMO would have aided in giving a better shine, but with the midnight oil burning I used Megs #105 (mild cutting head) followed by #205 (the latter was used with a Lake County Orange head, but some reckon that a Chemical Guys Hex Logic Green or White (softer than mine) would have been better). It helped at the last hour : For all those saying G3 is a little harsh I do agree slightly. It is messier than the above but it has served me well time and time again. On my Spitfire it aided in giving back the shine once I sanded the car down (it has never been refined properly since the PO resprayed it). Whilst it was not quite as good as the Spitfire above (the doors on that black car were repainted and were orange peel heaven prior to attacking them), the result was not terrible. The above was down with G3, followed by Autoglym SRP on a polishing head.
