The only way that could be better if there was a big red TRANSFORM button on the dash so it turned into a giant Optimus Prime.

Ive seen a documentary on these some couple of years ago. As with anything the japanese do they are very involved, and many have two trucks, one for show that is usually overaccessorized to the max, and one for work that aint too shabby either. They have truck shops with miles of shelves full of accessories, many of which i seemed to recognize from the bosos interiors too Search on youtube i seem to remeber watchin it there.

Having managed an engineering firm that specialised in stainless fabrication and knowing how much work (and therefore cost) is involved in even simple stainless steel work, it's always blown me away the stupendous amounts of money that these trucks must cost to build. Not just in the raw materials, or the fabriction, but the planning and installation too. Factor in all the millions of lights, conrtol systems and other accessories and I reckon these could well be some of the most expensive custom vehicles on the planet.
I LOVE them, but with all ^that above^ in mind, I respect and admire them just as much as I love them. Doing crazy things with a vehicle is one thing, but doing it to this level AND at this cost.....that's 100% pure solid awesome.
Thanks for posting that up EmmDearest, one of my fave threads in a long time. I currently hate Mike Garrett (but not really, I'm just ridiculously jealous)

I think that most of that stuff hung on the outside is just chromed plastic. In the video i mentioned earlier i remember the shops having these awful (in a good way) piece of kits hangin about. Still lot of work, but not as much as fabbin shizzit from scratch.

I think that most of that stuff hung on the outside is just chromed plastic. It isn't. VIP is right, it's stainless steel...and beautifully fabricated at that, then mirror polished to within an inch of its life. Masses of skill and ridiculous amounts of time. I'd guess that they're using 316 grade too, not just 304. Why? Because that's just how they seem to do things when it comes to these trucks. I would love to see one of these in the flesh. The more I think about them, the harder I find it to comprehend how much time, money and effort goes into them. Just incredible.
