I said "That's it. No more tat. Ever". So why have I just bought this? '89 Citroen BX RD with the legendary 1905cc XUD9 diesel lump, GTi interior, Berlingo steelies, 175k but massive list of recently replaced parts (cambelt, waterpump, suspension spheres, yada yada) means it drives like it's done half that. Came with a couple of weeks' tax, MOT until mid-Feb 2014 and a near brand-new JVC CD player. For £350. I'm happy, wifey's distinctly underwhelmed. Meh. Picking it up on Friday morning, more pics then.

Nice to see a white one of these without huge rust stains dripping down the sides.

You can't say "That's it. No more tat. Ever" without saying "More Tat!" Nice one Brian I take it you'll be at the beach party in it?

I'm picking it up on Friday morning so aside from going to football in it on Saturday it'll be the first time I've driven any distance in it. Fingers crossed! ;D

It's a daily so it's staying exactly as it is.
Seller has another four BX's in his yard, including a Cat B 16V GTi which is about to donate its running gear to a mint-looking white poverty-spec (so some 200kg lighter) BX Leader. Should be a real Q-Car.

^He's right, they do. You have seen my crusty estate version of what you've got, I take it. You really can't go far wrong with a BX that's had all the tough stuff done on it, I rate them very highly indeed.

It's home. No pics yet as I drove through a biblical snowstorm on the way back and now it's chucking it down with rain, but it sat at 65-70 on the motorway no problem and now it's on my drive. ;D

Couple more pics, taken today. Front bumper (and the back one, come to that) needs a proper clean. When all this white stuff's gone I'll do those, at the same time I replace the number plates with some pressed steel ones. Black trim strip needs repainting where the spilled diesel has disintegrated it. Dead chuffed with it. Starts instantly even when it's freezing cold, no smoke, suspension comes up smartly, and in a couple of minutes it's nice and toasty inside. ;D
