Hi!
I'm thinking about doing awaywith the mechanical fan when I convert the 300CE to diesel.
At the moment I'm thinking about a big fan from the W210 Merc CDI.
Now the thing is; they are controlled by an ECU with PWM. Now the question is: are they stand-alone ECUS, or are they integrated in the CAN-bus? How would I be able to run such a fan?
Are there any after-market fan controllers that allow to run the fan at required speeds, depending on the temperature?
If not I'm looking for a normal aftermarket fan and run it on/off via a temperature switch. But: if I could controll this fan with various speeds, that would be nice
My problem is: I'm very stupid when it comes to eletrickery ;D And I'm proud that I got the stereo working without any electrical fires ;D
Cheers,
Jan

PS: If I google 'fan control unit' I get flooded with computer-case-mod-stuff
