My Triumph was painted about 3 years ago, it's lived in the street through a couple of winters and spent a year in a concrete garage. The paint now looks a little dull, it's a 2 pack type paint. So I'm going to take a electric polisher to it, what's the best product to clean and restore the shine? Was thinking of Farecla G3 paint renovator liquid. www.g3pro.com/products/system/fading/G3PaintRenovatorAll advice welcome, never done this sort of thing before!

wash it off , and use a buffer with g3 and water, stay off edges if you can ,
then use a hand glaze/wax to finish it off,.

As above. Either G3 or Autoglym 03B fine abrasive with a spray bottle of water (it will burn the paintwork without water) Mask up the door rubbers, handles etc as it just saves the arseache. If it's a variable speed mop, turn it down low if it's the edge of a panel or a odd shape etc (or do those bits by hand)
Use a decent polish then a good wax to finish. By hand is fine or if you get a lambs wool or waffle head, you could use something like 3m machine glaze to get get rid of any swirls then give it a good waxing.

There is G3 and there is G3 . The trade G3 (cutting compound) has been quite useful over the years. I have polished many a car with it. These days I have gone a little posh after running out of G3 :/. So I decided to ask a friend of mine on another car forum what he uses (he is a painter by trade). I went another way (as luck and cost played their role), but I still ended up with a fab result and found out my friend used the same products too!: www.talkaudio.co.uk/ipb/index.php/topic/362589-which-mop-heads-to-go-for/On a couple of cars I have used Meguiars #105 and #205. 105 leaves a great shine for most people out there. 205 simply puts the icing on the cake. FWIW the black Spitfire on the KDT stand received that treatment. Not bad when you consider it had a thick layer of dust/overspray and general curse word on it before I had a got at it (it did have a shine, somewhere underneath it).

G3 is ok but very messy. I use 3Ms fast cut now and you can use it dry, better polish and alot less messy.
Hope that helps Charlie.

+1 on G3 being messy. The Megs #105 and 205 require WAY less water. I am still surprised at the shine they bring out.
Next time I may go for Fast Cut Plus. The appeal of having 1 compound doing the job of 2 (diminishing compounds FTW?) sounds ideal (I barely have time to wash my cars!).
Saying that, the Stag and the Mondeo will be the next cars to receive some attention from the polisher.
