Won the car (in standard form) on ebay with 1yr MOT a few months back. Its a 2.0 auto. Its been treated to 18" wheels, Eibach lowering springs, a black grill and an alarm/immobiliser since i bought it. Future plans include new bumper pads, a few bits of paint touched up and a machine polish. In the longer term i'd like to get a tweeked 2.3 kompressor engine/5 speed auto box under the bonnet.

That looks ace, but if you do want to swap the engines go for the m104 6cyl. More powerfull, and more reliable.

Love the 190s. I've had a genuine amg kitted model in black witch I fitted a cosworth 16v interior into and also a white beater of a 1.8 manual with an active slip rear diff. Love them. If I didn't have to do 600 miles a week if swap my Audi tdi in for one in a heartbeat. Great cars. So underrated

I could buy a crashed/mot failure C class 2.3 K for not alot of £... The thing with the 230 kompressor is all the wiring that goes with it, infared ignition keys, and the gearbox ecu. Any engine from a w124 is the best thing to fit. So m111, m103, and m104 are an easy swap.

Well. Not long after i started this thread the engine expired and its taken till recently to get a suitable engine. I decided to just get another std 2.0 motor as this will once again be my daily driver, i didn't want it to become a project sitting in the garage for months/years. So, new (85k mile) engine, new MOT (no advisories), new lower suspension and its back on the road. I've also got some new wheels for it.

Fancy meeting you here. It'd be alot quicker than with the current engine... I have the 106 for a fast car but a bit more grunt wouldn't go amiss.

Weather permitting I'll be trial fitting the wheels tomorrow, the front will be fine but the 9.5" rears will be a bit tight I think. (I'll get a pic & post it up)

Ye, i'd hate to kerb them. Possibly a better pic... I'm looking into getting the bumpers/cladding painted black as well, it'll be a better contrast between the wheels & body colour.

Lovely! Nearly bought another 190e from the bay a few weeks back but it was too tatty - great cars, so much more enjoyable to look at than the C class that followed. I had a 2.0 auto in Almandine red with cream interior... Love the look of this on the rims, pics are good enough to eat!

That is a handsome looking Benz! I've kinda got a bit of a thing for these after watching a black one getting ragged about in 'the wrong man's' a couple months ago that one didn't end well tho.
