Hi, This is my 1988 Mini Jiffy pickup. The jiffy was bought off Peter Nelson ( previous owner of the James bond museum and Cars of the Stars in Keswick) as I intended to restore it to its former glory and put it back on the road for my dad to use for his gardening business.
However, Buying a house and having a Ford Capri with a 4.6 V8 nearly ready to go in means that I simply don't have the time, or the money, to do the jiffy as well. I also don't have a way to get it to my new home!
Since receiving the jiffy I have stripped it down to a bare chassis and painted it dark metallic grey to protect it, removed the cab and cleaned all the crud out of it, replaced the head gasket, valve stem oil seals ect along with fitting a performance manifold and an uprated carb for the 998CC engine that is fitted.
The seats were removed and dry stored as soon as I got the Jiffy, but they will want re covered I think
The engine did run as I drove it up the drive to strip it down, but hasn't ran since then and it will need tailored away.
All the glass is in good condition and the bed just needs new wood for it, but one of the side panels is missing ( although they are just made from 40x40 angle so its easy to re make)
Here are some pictures of it during the process of stripping it down and the carb/ manifold.
I also have the full original Indespention Instruction manual for the jiffy and the Haynes manual for the Donor MINI so its easy-peasy to put together!
If you have any further questions or would like more pictures then please email me on jrweightman@gmail.com or call on 07446868198
The car is located in Keswick, Cumbria and I'm after £500 ONO for it.
