**WARNING - this thread contains 99% modern content** It does, however, also contain guns, explosions, a car chase and behind the scenes shots of it all. Take one of Europes largest aircraft hangars: Construct some large cardboard boxes (approx 300 in total) Bring in some paintballs (16,000 although only a few hundred were actually used) Some paintball guns (nicely modelled here by our very own Corbs) ...and finally some paint. A few hundred litres of paint.

So, after all that hard work...what has changed? Can you spot it? Yep...you're seeing right. It's not held on with gaffa tape or sticky pads either....the SFX guy just drilled straight through the bonnet to mount the gun. That's over a grands worth of bodywork by the time you've bought a new one and had it painted.... BUT HOW COOL DOES THAT LOOK?? Some final checks and phonecalls made... ...and it's time to load some paint balls in and have a practice. Corbs, "Go on, pull the trigger, I dare you...." A quick test run around the hangar before firing off a few 'rounds' Just in case - some spare tyres waiting in the wings. Only about £1,200 for the tyres. As for the cost of the 20" wheels, if you have to ask.... Time for a break. Shooting is about to start (literally) and it's going to be a LONG night ahead. Better get some food inside us then courtesy of the catering truck. See that old guy in the queue? Remember that saying 'never judge a book by its cover'? I just thought he was someones Dad along to watch from a distance....

His name is Colin and it turns out he's a stuntman. Quite a well known one too! Ever heard of Luke Skywalker? Yeah, he was his stunt double in the original films. He's done an awful lot of stuff since. Turns out, despite his slightly frail appearance that he's actually pretty handy behind the wheel of a car. This was his car for the day. The black one? You wouldn't believe it, but this was being piloted by Jim who was Han Solo's stunt double amongst other things. Colin & Jim have a bit of history when it comes to this sort of thing. This could make for some good viewing and I was there to witness it first hand. All checks complete, the hangar is ready, the cars are raring to go and the cameras are set - time for a group shot before mayhem commences Oh...and I forgot to mention these little beauties stowed in the boot of the black car. You'll find out more about them later.

Black - ARE YOU READY? White - ARE YOU READY? GO!!! Round 1 complete, time to assess the damage: White, you scored a few hits....well done. Black, you scored more hits... Including a bullseye!!

Time for round two - GO!! Black seemed to be getting away quite clean But not for long! White is winning this round by the looks of things? Black hardly scores any points... Having said that, it wins max bonus point from me for getting this caliper. On a moving car. Without hitting the wheel!! Who cares if black is currently losing, how cool does this look? Bleeding much? Camera crew take a break from filming... ...after lining up the next shots.

In order to catch the action from a different angle, the producer whips the door off his own car and stuffs a camera man in there: CHASE! Remember those metal cannisters in the boot of the black car? What you couldn't see were the pipes running from them through holes in the boot floor....for this to happen: Paint slick? You got it: White got it too... So when the VW boys want inspiration for their next paint job, maybe they should get busy getting messy Black scores a bit of an 'own goal'

Time to bring out some explosives....and I do mean EXPLOSIVES! I hate using this term, but in this case it's appropriate: BOOM!! Yep, that's worked. Remember that late 80's/early 90's craze for paint splatter? BOOM! Another hit.... Headlights are overrated anyway. Just when you think things coulnd't get any worse for black, it slides on its own paint slick... ...straight into a sneakily hidden paint bomb in one of the box towers Yeah, things are starting to get a bit messy now

That can only mean one thing...LET'S HAVE SOME MORE The end. After two full on, manic days getting everything ready, it's now 4am and filming has just finished. We're all shattered beyond words but work doesn't stop there. Audi want their cars back So while they are cleaned, the rest of us start to clear up inside before heading to our hotel rooms for a few hours sleep only to return to carry on the clean up and clear out. Three of the most exciting and tiring days of my life, but boy was it amazing to be part of it. And now for the best part....the video itself. ENJOY! Thank you for looking.... ;D

Absolutely epic! Also curious how you ended up involved. Who was in charge of the music score by the way? Quality tune, singing along as soon as kicked in haha

Coincidently the guy in the orange jumper is my friend Tim who I used to work with. Small world I had quite a good chat with Tim in between shoots. In the middle of the conversation he asked I'd heard of Retro Rides, saying he knew the owner. I mentioned your name, he told me about you two working together, we both said (at the same time) "small world" I have to say, I'm not a fan of his pearlescent purple R8 convertible. Nice car, but that colour? Sounds nice though...

I don't like to swear on here, but f*ck me this is the coolest thing ever. I thought you'd like it. Despite only getting a handful of hours sleep over three days, I would do it again in a flash....it was truly awesome! How and why were you involved in this Bruce? How do you get to a gig like that !!!!!!! Absolutely epic! Also curious how you ended up involved. Who was in charge of the music score by the way? Quality tune, singing along as soon as kicked in haha An Area 52 regular and good friend of mine Corwin (Corbs on here) is the production manager of the company Rubber Republic: www.rubberrepublic.com/ who are, to put it very loosely, a free thinking advertising agency. Check out some of the other viral videos on their website, they're well worth watching! Corbs contacted me to see if I'd be interested in helping out with setting up and running of the shoot and I was more than happy to agree. I also got asked if I wanted to shoot all the 'behind the scenes' photos too which was brilliant! It was genuinely like a dream come true to have the opportunity to get right in behind the scenes like this. Seeing the finished video is amazing, but nothing can beat the feeling of actually being there and being immersed in a project like that. Fingers crossed they'll let me back for other future ventures?
