hi there, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to using bike carbs on a car engine, i was wondering if it was possible to use my standard mecanical fuel pump to feed the carbs or would i be better using the pump that came on the bike? i m thinking about using R1 bike carbs on a 2.0 pinto with raised compression and high lift cam
cheers A

yeah, mech pump will be more than upto the job, you will actually need a pressure reg to drop the PSI down to avoid overfueling used to run a 2.1 pinto, big valve head, race cam, high comp on some keihin CVK36's, R1 carbs will be well up for the job, you want 1.7 to 1.8mm jets in em most likely, just be careful with R1 carbs, some of them are classed as injection units and wont work, you need early R1 carbs google Bogg Brothers, they gave me a lot of help and advice when i was sortin my set up out
