Hi Folks, Has anyone used POR-Strip to remove underseal before? www.frost.co.uk/por15-por-strip-paint-remover.htmlI need to remove some original Ziebart underseal from my escort and Frost.co.uk recommended this stuff, so I wondered if anyone had any experience of it? Thanks! Here's a piccy of my escort ready to get stripped

You could always ask Frost if they will give a money back guarantee if you buy based solely on ther recommendation and it doesen't work. Personally I'd use a hot air gun and scraper to at least remove the bulk of the rustproofing. I've also got a powered scraper and although not used it on underseal it makes swift work of tile adhesive etc so reckon it would be worth trying.

Paul H I think you've just reminded me of the new seam of rust I struck when last working on my Triumph (sometime last autumn..). Was cleaning off some dried out seam sealer with a power scraper, and..... Assuming it's the same type of thing (buzzy hand held thing, with chisel like "blades" which vibrate and thus shift whatever you need shifting), it did very well aside from being somewhat assertive with what I had taken to be not rusted through metal, and also sometimes getting stuck on lips and rough bits and trying to chisel its way through. Not tried the POR stuff, but a blowlamp, scraper, and then celly thinners and wire wool went fairly well at getting underseal off an inner arch. Took at least a couple of hours though.
