I have for sale a complete 6 point Safety Devices bolt in roll cage to fit any MGB GT. It comes with the hoop clamps, and a drivers adjustable door bar. There is also a custom rear strut brace that mounts to the seat/seatbelt mounts on top of the wheel arches. I will also inlcude the 4 really long bolts to mount the front part through the chassis rails/sills, and also four plates to bolt to the rear wheel arches for the rear 4 mounting points, so everything you need. www.safetydevices.com/motorsport/products/roll-cage/MG+MGB+-1962-1980/353/This came in my MG when I bought it, I removed it, stripped and gave it a couple of coats of protective white primer and it's been in my garage ever since, it's in very good condition with hardly any use. For sale as I am going for a full weld in cage later this year. Pics this weekend. They are around £450 new, I'm asking £350ono

hi, is the custom brace welded into the cage or a stand alone item? feel free to pm if you don't want to clog up the thread. Cheers

No no it's fine mate, the custom brace is completely separate, it's basically a steel pipe with flattened ends which have been drilled to bolt to the seatbelt mounts on top of the wheel arches - similar to the one in the photo in the link but not quite as nice lol. I had the cage fitted to my GT but it does fit roadsters apparently, although I'm not sure if the strut brace will as I'm not overly familiar with the roadster back end.
The roll cage has a single diagonal in the rear part, as per the photo in the link. Anything else let me know, I'll get photos asap. Cheers

iirc you'd have bit problems getting it to fit a roadster. so it's probably a GT only item. I've currently got a cage fitted but I've been looking at bracing that area anyway for track use in the future, imo even for road use and the odd hillclimb, a full rear cage vastly improves the feel of a MGB and you feel a lot safer! I think safety devices supply those kits on request made of door bars cut to length. good luck with the sale.

my cage has legs down by the chassis rails and on the wheel arches which is what interested me, The safety devices stuff is normally well designed so I'd assume they've tested the best areas to mount on. The rear hoop is different heights on Coupes and fixable hardtops and the safety devices one states the works height which most racers run, so yours would certainly be a BGT only kit. I might look at a additional Cross bar like in the first link you put up as it would brace the car further, if you could put up a picture of that bar I'd be grateful. Cheers.

Id be interested in the cage and not the cross brace for the rear belts so could work out well

hi, i checked my cage and the mounts on top of the wheel arches are much further back so i wouldn't be able to run a second bar as well which is a shame. you did get me motivated to do some work on the car though!
