Anybody successfully drilled a radiator to take a push in style fan switch?
How did you secure it?

It cost me £10 to have a boss for a screw in switch fitted by a rad specialist. They soldered in in place.

Depends what material your radiator is made of.
If it's an old brass one, then as composimmonite said, solder a boss/nut on.
If it's an Ali one, then you'll need to get one welded on.
If it's composite (plastic) then forget it imo

Would it not be easier to T into one of the hoses with one of those aluminium t pieces then put the fan switch there? Can't remember if it should be hot or cold side of the rad though.

I fitted a Lotus Otter switch into a rad in my old Anglia van. I used a tank cutter and a file, fitted the special tapered grommet and then pushed the Otter switch through the grommet which opened it up effectively sealing it and it worked great for years.
