Currently slung under the front of this beast: It has the rack, hubs, springs, disks, callipers and tie rods with it. I would say it is in need of refurb as it's been sat for quite a long time. Would anybody a) like to take the p!$$ out of my new toy car or b) offer a value for the axle. I'm aware they where used on a lot of kit cars and the like back in the day and are probably not that common. Obviously not expecting to retire from it.

You really need to find out whether it's OHV or OHC front axle, that will alter the value. If it's HPF (Droopsnoot Firenza) that would be better again. If I was closer I'd come and have a look to see if I could compare, but post some photos of the subframe itself and post them and I'll see if it's clear from those.

Thanks. I'll get some when I whip it out. Is there any obvious way of telling which it is?

No, it's coil springs.
I'll get a picture but it will be tomorrow at the earliest. It's still on the car and it's a bit awkward to get a decent shot of where it is parked.

To be honest, I'd rather it went as one as I don't have any use for the rest of it

I'm no HA expert, but I don't think it's an easy swap to put HC parts onto a HA axle, VVOC forum would have more details on that. Vented discs would have been very special indeed, but also a home conversion as even the works rally cars used solid. Some have converted to use Renault vented discs, my old Sportshatch had Ralt f3 discs on the front, but all done by an individual.
As for describing the differences, I'm not really sure, my plan was to see the photos then go from there. I can tell HPF vs. OHC when next to each other - the discs are thicker on HPF and also specific to that and the 3.3 FD Ventora, so not easy to replace if bad. If it has an anti-roll bar, I *think* that means it's almost certainly OHC, and you can tell from the shape of the engine mounts, again it's hard to describe but include shots of the mounts to make it easier.

It has no anti roll bar fitted. Also no engine mounts as it is bolted direct to the fiberglass tub (mid engines).
I will get what pictures I can tonight, but they will be limited as its still fitted to the car. I will also measure the disks.

Done some internet research. Looks like it's either a HB or HC axle with255mm discs.
It looks like the engine mount platforms have been removed and the rear 'legs' have been cut down.
Can anybody offer a guide value based on this? £50? £100? £1000000?
Thank you please.

Are you in a mad rush for it? It will take me a week or two to get it off as I'm quite busy at the moment. Are you going to organise the courier for it?

In all honesty with the rear arms cut off it's only going to be suitable for parts, it would be difficult to put the whole thing back into a Viva. Looks as if it did have an ARB at one point - picture 5 shows the mounting on the lower arm, but as it would bolt to the rear legs behind the point where they've been cut off, it's not there.

The rear arms look to bolt on, so you could.use your existing one, but then there's the engine mounts...
Mike. Ill get it of the car asap and then we can take it from there. Will send you a text so you have my number.

The rear arms do look as if they bolt on, but they don't. Those bolts only hold the lower arm in position - behind that there are quite a few spot welds. It's do-able, certainly, but not a bolt job unfortunately. Same for the engine mounts (as long as you had a set) - welded to the subframe on the angled bit, but could be swapped.
