Hi All,
My LX 16v is for sale due to purchase of a Manta. In summary, you'll do well to find a useable Mk2 Cavalier like this anywhere for £750. Let alone one thats got a redtop in it and will pass plenty more MOT's in the future. Its a great base for a project.
Car is located in Somerset. I'm flexible on collection, could pick you up from the station or whatever! just ask!
Its story is fairly well known..... details here!

Basic info
1988F Cavalier LX Saloon glacier white
VERY solid underneath, needed one patch for the MOT should do many more without trouble
MOT till 22nd Dec 2013 tax till the end of May
125k miles
3 owners, 2nd keeper from 1994 - 2012
Price £750 no offers considered. Take it or leave at this money folks!
C20XE Redtop fitted from known doner car, late dizzyless type pulls well and has had oil filter in the last 2k miles. Cambelt has done 10k miles. Engine doesnt tap, doesnt smoke and doesnt use oil. It pulls well without flat spots.
Gearbox is an F16 - works fine but it does crunch ever so slightly into 3rd and 4th if you change really quickly. I can supply an F20 if you want to swap the internals - extra cost.
brakes are braided hoses all round, 16v callipers, standard pads, grooved 256mm front discs. Rear is standard drums.
Standard springs, KYB gas shocks which are 2k miles of use on them. All new track rod ends, anti roll bar bushes
brand new injection fuel tank (needs a fresh paint due to a couple of cured fuel leaks!)
exhaust in mild steel and home made by a mate, Its good quality and will last plenty of time, its not a horrid cobbled together effort. Its not a particularly quiet car but it doesnt have a centre silencer so that can be addressed if you want.
Interior I have fitted a digidash myself. No stereo at all, drivers seat worn, but other than that its all complete and in not to bad a shape. Ive never cleaned it so it'll come up great.
Bodywork. I can make the description easy - while its fantastically solid underneath, and I mean solid, on top its in need of work if it will ever be a show car. You would want rear valance, arches, rear doors, fuel filler, NS front wing, front valance and radiator support. Its been painted and there is overspray. On the plus side, the trim is all there bar the osr valance trim, and its all in great nick too which is a bonus. As you can see its a perfectly useable and presentable car as it is.
PM me if interested!
