Would the factory seam sealer still be soft after 22 years? Or as I suspect my car has had a new wing? Any thoughts appreciated.

Depends what sealer it is, some of it stays soft forever.

Even if it had, if the repair's been done well enough that the only noticeable sign is some soft seam sealer, I wouldn't say that's anything to worry about.  |

Well that's a relief I thought it had new wings I.e crash damaged On a XR2i, it could well have had new wings due to the body kit trapping water/crud and rotting out the arches. At the end of the day, as Robin said, if the only thing that hints it might have had new wings is the seam sealer still being soft, then even if they aren't the factory wings they have been fitted as good as when they left the factory so nothing to worry about |
