Might have the above for sale in the next couple of weeks. It's taxed and tested (about 8 months worth), drives pretty well, new exhaust and a few other bits. It's all there, but needs some body attention. O/S/R Quarter has a nasty dent that someone has tried to panel beat (badly) which will need heat shrinking and panel beating properly, a bit of bodywork rust (nothing major tho, no panels required, just localised repairs), and a full repaint. Interior is worn, but all complete. Wheels are original, and in good nick, tyres all good. I would love to keep this for myself, but I've already got too many projects on the go so it has to go. Would make a mega period rally or touring car rep. So knowledgeable people, what's it worth? Anyone interested in buying it before I do something mad and end up with it myself?

No idea what its worth, but let me know when you've got a price in mind. Wouldn't mind this as a daily.

The 142 is very rare in the UK, most were 4 doors, I'm guessing it's a 20B engine twin carb?, got to be worth £1500-£2000, maybe slightly more

Thanks for that Trigger.... I knew it was rare being the 2 door, but I don't think this one is worth £2850.....! Although in fairness to the car, it is all there and on the road driving regularly. Compass, I'm gonna go to the car on Monday and assess it fully. When I've done that, I'll Pm you with full details and the price I'm looking for. Suffice to say, it will be a fair price for the car based on condition and driveability. That ok with you?

Righto, quick update on this. I now have this car at my business premises. It turns out this is a 142S, of which there are only two examples on the road in the UK, this being one of them. It could really do with an o/s/r quarter panel as it is quite badly damaged. These are still available from Sweden, gonna investigate tomorrow. Also needs a repair to n/s/f wing, or replacements are also available from its homeland....And needs a n/s dropglass.... Will get some pics up as soon as I get a minute. It was registered in '73, but manufactured '72, so is on historic tax, and MOT'd til December. Drives mint too..........

When will the folk in charge GET A GRIP and immediadely remove posts like this from this section !!! It's what the 'What's It worth?' section is for. Also, I think you might have picked on the wrong thread...this one seems to be perfectly reasonable, in fact, unless I'm mistaken the original poster is even suggesting a valuation might be too much at one point. There are 'for sale ads in disguise' in this section, but importantly they're not wasting space in the proper section, which is exactly how it's supposed to be.

Location would have no bearing on its value, apart from to you. Sounds like the OP is looking for a fair price and no doubt it'll sell quickly if it's that rare... I'm also keen to see pics, just because though.

So another for sale ad in disguise then! You know what you want and just touting for a good price. When will the folk in charge GET A GRIP and immediadely remove posts like this from this section !!! I apologise if my thread has upset you, it was not my intention to wind anybody up.....Although I have to say, I'm afraid I don't understand your objection to my post. In the original post. I clearly stated that this vehicle would be for sale as I don't have the time or cash to give it the attention it deserves. My post was intended to find out a fair price for the car, then offer it in the For Sale section, to ensure I get a fair price for the car, and the buyer gets a fair deal for their money...... I'm a Ford and Alfa man really, so I'm not too sure on Volvo values....... I'm not looking to have anybody's pants down here, I only bought the car as, although it was being used as a daily, it was being neglected, and I felt it deserved to be saved before it was too late. I would love to do the car myself, but I already have a number of my own projects on the go, as well as several for other people, so my time is aalready stretched to it's limit. Compass, I will be at work tomorrow morning (Sat) so I will get some photo's and send them to your email addy. Will try and pu some up here as well, but I'm not very good with computers, and I don't have a Photobucket account......... Think I'm a grumpy old technophobe....
