Due to the cure-word design of the MGB door locks, iv decided to try out a keyless entry system, has anyone used some of ebay before that are of a good quality? i have visions of buying one and it feeling/looking cheap and probably breaking, it only has to be two door as I'm keeping the boot on a lock just incase i also want it to have wiring as so i can have one of those old japaneese sound horns that make the doink doink noise any help apreciated, Thanks Mike

If you are talking about replacing the entire door handle assembly with something remote operated, then it will no longer pass the MoT test. However, if you are just talking about replacing the locking mechanism, just add a remote central locking kit and remove the linkage from the key mechanism. Keeps it looking original and can be reinstated back to standard very easily.

I've had a kit from Right-Click on the Scirocco for a while. The control box is a bit cheep feeling, but still works, the motors are identical to 99% of kits and the fob actually feels good. Worth a look I guess, loads of choice of fobs too.

+1 for right click stuff. I've fitted dozens of his kits and the only issues I've ever had were when the motors weren't strong enough to pull the locks on a sprinter, but that wasn't the fault of the kit. That said, avoid the fake VW flip fobs they sell, if you use the key blade they will fall to pieces after a few weeks, and the buttons are so sensitive you'll unlock your car every time you sit down with the key in your pocket,

I've fitted lots (and lots) of these over the years, cheap, pretty robust, simple, you're buying direct, free uk delivery.

I don't want to sound like one of the other old farts on here but why? what's so complicated about an MG lock that you want to fit a more complicated system to unlock the door ?

theres nothing complicated about them at all, don't now if youve owned an mgb but the door locks are held on by a split tab washer thing, and if you drive your car daily you can go through a set of those in a year everytime you wanna get in and out of your car you have to faf about with the keys and when youv got three ther the same size it gets to be a bit of a curse word lend your car to your girlfirned and shes not careful with the keys.....scratched paintwork the 30seconds you spend messing about with the keys means you get an extra 30seconds in bed ina morning not fun trying to get in your car when the locks turning round for 10mins in the freezing cold old door locks have a tendancy to freeze.......will save having to sit there with the fag lighter defrosting them....... plenty of good reason to fit one!!!
