Just recently, my fiesta is having problems starting and I'm unsure why. About 6-8 months ago it had new HT leads, new dizzy cap and Bosch super spark plugs. It will turn over but not fire for a while then eventually it Will. I sprayed the cap and leads with WD40 thinking this would sort the problem but it hasn't. Really need this sorted as it is my daily, any help would be much appreciated!

I had a similar problem and ignition timing sorted this out, might not be but worth a go.  |

If you've sorted out all the electrics, then it may be a problem with the fuel side of things?
When you do get it started, what does it run like?

runs fine once it starts, no problems at all!

You said you sprayed the cap and leads, did you remove the leads one by one and spray inside the terminals, and spray the plug ends too, just spraying over the top of the leads will not always work, There are a couple of other things that spring to mind, Low cranking voltage, and I believe there is a cold start on the engine too,

no i didn't spray inside just over the top, what do you mean by a cold start on the engine? I've been told from a friend that it could be the gap between the spark plugs or points? But i went to the car this morning and it fired on the first turn of the key! So as it's not a daily problem, i'm pretty sure it's the timing.

If it started first time this morning, no rain, no dew, no fog, I would go 99% moisture in the HT electrics,

well it started okay this morning too even though there was mist, dew so do you think its HT leads?

Moisture, spray everywhere, inside the cap, inside the lead terminals, and plug ends and plugs, it can be often caused by a late park up, and a cold night, condensation forms on everything, seeps into HT joints and causes arcing and misfires, sometimes worth a look under the bonnet with an engine running in the dark, not under streetlights, DARK, sometimes better than a thunderstorm with blue flashes everywhere, that will tell you if your HT is breaking down or damp,
