got this last summer
i am not going to go mad with this car just bring it up to a driveable spec
it looks really ruff but it is honestly solid last on the road in 1979 and dry stored since
an elderly gentle man owned it and passed away and his wife wouldnt sell it
when she died her house was cleared out and it was found in the garage under a plastic sheet
so heres a few pics to get started
only 1 small hole in the front wing tho i am sure once i start poking ill find something else
so i started stripping off all the rad hoses ect
and i noticed a bit off a mark on the slam panel
once i took out the radiator i found a few problems
the car at some stage has had a fight with a lampost and lost
and the rad pipes where caked solid with curse word
not good  also i noticed that at some stage the engine has been frozen solid and the ice ect has forced out a core plug
so got stuck in and pulled the engine out
New replacement chevette engine with a propeller on the front lol
i got it in and running i was gonna mot it for a laugh
found a rust hole in the chassis leg not that big but i need to sort it before i replace the brake and fuel lines that run in front off it
not so bad when this is the only hole in the whole shell so far
so i started to clean out the original fuel system so i had to remove the petrol tank which sits in the boot
i was expecting to see rot here as this was a comman problem area and my other ha had it replaced completely
as i said before car is mostly surface rust few wee nastys hideing still stripping it at the min
got all the wiring and rear lights ect stripped out
so first this was get the other welded on front wing off and see the damage that lay behind it
so then i had to get the rest off the front end out and the engine ect to get her up on her side to get all the under seal off and find any rotten metal
to behonest theres a few small patches but its still extreamly soild and definatiltly worth saving
put red oxide primer on the bits that we had cleaned to stop them getting any worse
well as you can see in the back off the previous pics i obtained some 7 " weller steel deep offset wheels tho un fortunitally they are 4x100
we stuck some 155 tyres on them and they are very streched i am hoping the saloon will clear 175/185
so i tryed an old trick off mine today by taking out a pair off chevette half shafts that i had in a hb axel making it a hb 4x100 and tryed them in the ha axel
unfortunatly hb and chevette half shafts are around an inch and a half longer so even tho the splines in the planet gears are the same they are just too long
so i am going to have to run wobble nuts so any hub centric advice will be taken on board
any how i stuck them on my ha van to see how they would sit
the van is very high in them pics on the car i am gonna have it sitting lower
c+c / advice welcome
