Just picked this Volvo 340 1.4 3dr up from the yard and got it into the workshop. Now I have to decide what to do with it. You guys fancy shouting some suggestions at me? Nothing too major, no engine transplants, I'm fairly new to this game.

I had a B reg 340GL. Bought it off a mate, who had it from new, when 3 years old. Great little car. Ran it up to just under 100,000 miles and no serious problems. Fitted a towbar and though only 1.4 it towed a small caravan OK. BTW mine had a smaller factory rear spoiler and insurer added £10 a year additional premium for the declared "modification" !

Polish it to death, underseal it and service it first ;-)

Alternatively, come up with some original ideas, don't put it on minilites and get yourself over to volvo300mana.com (uk forum, not the french one ) for some technical books for when it goes wrong. As it's a 340, check the state of your engine mounts. Shouldn't be too bad on this one but generally it can cause prop failure if the engine isn't where it should be. Have fun, they're a joy to drive and work on.

OK, started to assess the situation today. Fully washed and inspected.
Rust issues on 3 of the arches, nothing too bad. Also a rusted area on drivers door from a car park incident.
Fuel mix isn't sounded correct, fuel nozzles seam to be spluttering in the webber carb.
Engine mounts seam very loose, will need dealt with, thanks to Speedy88 for the heads up on that one.
Ordering in some service parts shortly, any volvo part site recommendations?

did this by any chance come a yard in Desbrough? Nope, P&T Moore in Hereford. Very good yard, would recommend them.

Parts dude? Err not much, but classicswede on volvo300mania is remaking engine mounts, send him a PM and he'll be able to tell you what you need. He's cheap too.
