they do look good, VERY easy to make as well, but if you want them functioanl there is a very strict set of mathmatical rules to follw, as being even a tiny bit out makes em useless.

Is it wrong that one of my earliest memories is reading a late-eighties/early nineties copy of CCC that had an article on vents and how effective they were...And that I've always remembered that a proper NACA duct is the best vent available (on a flow vs drag comparison)...?
I even remember the diagram, giving angles and radii that the duct should be....

your not wrong functional indeed- they draw air into whatever they're connected to cant remember the exact reason why (I THINK air decompresses and therefore speeds up creating a ram effect) cos i aint been to college for a long time , but i learnt they worked there so i'll believe them ;D sexy too, form and function in one great package ;D If your worried about the shapes i think places like demon tweeks do pre-formed ones which you can "let in" wherever you like. If you're made of money, buy an F40 and cut out the bits you want, and fibreglass them to your *insert retro chariot here*

I know it look cack cause I have not sprayed it (and I have lost faith with it so I am going to break it) but heres my NACA duct on my Volvo 480 turbo...... Mounted above my (mega heat soaking) filter cone! Yes they do look slightly better on a F40 though

If you're made of money, buy an F40 and cut out the bits you want, and fibreglass them to your *insert retro chariot here* Or take a look at the bonnet of a T72 (late '80s type) Bluebird. They have what's basically a big NACA duct pressed into them. Recall them being mentioned in the mag's in the early '80s, probably an essential part of getting the IMSA look on your Princess

If you just want a bit of intake but don't want to naff up the aerodynamics then a flush duct like this NACA duct works better. Check oot the description here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NACA_duct
