Hi all, I've fitted a nice mountney traditional wheel in place of the bus wheel origanally in the vitty. my question is how on earth (excuse the electrical pun) can I get a feed to the horn from the centre push button on the wheel without the twisted mess of wire I have at the moment? To explain, I have for the time being, just ran a wire from the horn push through the back of the wheel to the horn live under the dash when the button is pressed it contacts the wheel/coloumn and makes the circuit. the horn works but I'm concious that when I'm turning corners the wire will be twisting round the coloumn. not ideal.

Sounds to me like you haven't got the correct boss to suit your car.
I have an aftermarket wheel in my Vitesse using a mountney boss which has the proper carbon brush and ring.

Could I ask where you got the boss from?
I had to use an astrali boss as its the only one I could find that would fit.
Thanks

IIRC mine came from a shop in Leicester who were mountney dealers. Can't remember the name I'm afraid. I can have a dig tomorrow if it helps?!

If you don't mind that would be great thanks ;D It's difficult to find boss's for old obscure cars and mountney have ceased trading so its getting harder as they obviously don't make anymore!

horns don't have to work off the button in the centre of the wheel, it can be worked from anywhere, simple switch on the dash will do,

Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble

I was 99% sure it could be operated from anywhere from an mot stance but I would like to run it from the wheel if possible. It's certainly something to bear in mind though, cheers

Right, Having cleared my brain of beer I can now tell you that I got the Mountney boss for my Vitesse from the TSSC. IIRC it was about £18 I probably went there cos they're only half an hr from me 01858 434424
