To treat the inside of the Scimitar chassis sections, I've bought Tetroseal and their so-called 'Easi Sprayer', as I've no compressor equipment. The sprayer doesn't spray. Easi doesn't enter the equation. Is there any other pump-type equipment that could be pressed into service to spray the stuff? I'd give some DIY/garden equipment a go if anyone has had success with these or any other lo-tech solutions. Some spraying fun as thanks :

Have you tried heating the stuff up? It might flow a lot better if you warm the whole container up by standing it in a pot of hot water.

Yeah, I might give heat a go. You can thin the stuff down a little too. The sprayer looks a bit pants though. I might have a hunt around B&Q's garden section on the way home for something a little better.

Garden sprayer should have enough oomph but heating and thinning first! Winter undersealing is a pain compared to nice, warm summer undersealing......

stick the tin somewhere warm, like the tank cupboard, then stand it in hot water when your going to use it, and thin it with white spirit up to 10%, then try the sprayer, it will be as good as any manual sprayer, this time of the year it's a struggle even with a compressor, if it's not heated!
it's one of the disadvantages of doing it in cold weather, an advantage is that as soon as it hits the metal, it cools so there is less drainage!

This looks exactly like the waxoyl and "easy" sprayer I bought about a year ago. The sprayer was also rubbish.
What you need is a sort of sprayer that uses pressure to force the stuff out of a bottle instead of using suction to suck it out of the container. I used a garden sprayer like you pictured. You can also thin it to about 50/50 with white spirits, this will make it alot thinner making it creep between all crevices, it even creeped up about 30mm between panels!
And of course, like everybody already said, heating it up by letting it sit in a tub of hot water, or letting it sit on the heater for a bit also helps.

In the past we've (carefully) used boiling water in a pan to get it thin enough to go on nicely, ideally you could sit it one one of the portable electric cooker rings to keep it on the simmer - it does take ages to get the whole tin up to temperature though

I use the Waxoyl hand pump pressure sprayer which works well so long as you stand the tin in hot water for a long time to heat it up and mix it with some clean engine oil as well. I use 50/50 mix. That not only thins it which makes it spray nicely, the oil also helps it to penetrate into the metal surface. Otherwise it sits on top of the metal which can allow moisture to seep underneath it.
I use Wilkinsons' cheapest 20W/50 oil - works well for me.

Good advice, all. Many thanks. Sounds like I'll be trying a pump sprayer, heat and some thinning down at the weekend.

Gotta say that easi sprayer does look pants. I used the electric paint sprayer thing once and covered the car in overspray, that was too powerful. The waxoyl one worked fine with the correct tin of course. I just stood it in a sink of hot tap water and got on with something else for an hour and used loads of white spirit because I'm a tight git. But sprayed it twice anyway... That was 2 months ago and the car is still in one piece!
