So started into buffing and trying to get the paintwork into a reasonable condition. Started on the roof and that overspray, wasn't coming up too bad went to the bonnet..there was black specks of paint all over it. like it had got in the way of someone cleaning a paintbrush . Now I'm not a professional at detailing, and have limited knowledge of paint correction/polishing but results were quite pleasing

Looks like a corker ( a clubby estate is on the list of future projects ) 1 thing though, those aren't jacking points. They are used in production for the shell to move along (in the paint shop if my memory isn't failing me ). You'll bend the floor if you jack on them

I welded a stiffener plate in there so hopefully if some daft person does "jack" on it, it wont give too much

Love it, I have a real hankering for a Mini pickup, but they command such ridiculous amounts of money nowadays that an estate or van is high on the want list My dad had one and we would travel all over in it, me and my twin brother in the boot, Mum, Gran and my big brother in the back and Dad and Grandad in the front I kid you not. Oh, and the dog in the back as well ;D Oh, and there was one I knew years ago that had the 13's on with wide arches. Looked the dogs danglies

so some update photos subframe cleaned and etch painted started to tackle the lower dash rail and not putting a cover on it, changing the switch panel and looking at moving the 2 dash clock to the centre binnacle type. plated the opening and flushed it smooth

Great work, I love clubby estates, I really want to get one for myself some day! I'd love to do a restoration at this level as well, hopefully one day I'll have the space and time for a project as big as this.
What are your plans for the finished car, will it be back to standard factory spec, a few bolt on mods, or some serious custom work going in to it?
Looking forward to seeing how this progresses, keep up the good work.

hmm..plans for it.
Well it's not going back standard , as my 18yr old son wants to be able to drive this. He's into his minis and wants something a bit different. So the route I'm taking is std. 998, nice paint scheme, modern interior, wide rims, useable car but not an everyday car. He can drop a bigger engine in later.

It's great to see a Clubby Estate getting some attention. This should make for a lovely Mini once it is finished .
