I have a mk1 Caddy which has been fitted with one of those lovely after market sunroofs from the 80's and it leaks. I have tried removing it and cleaning the "hinges" and bending them to try to make them seal tighter but to no avail. I really don't fancy trying to weld a patch into the hole. Are there new seals available or even complete new sunroof's? I am considering just running a bead of Sika around it and sealing it up for good. Any suggestions?

take the glass out completely then cover the glass in shrink (pallet) wrap - its thicker and stronger than cling film. cover the edge of wrapped glass that meets the rubber with vaseline (on top of the shrink wrap obviously-stops it all sticking together!!)
clean as much s**t as you can from original rubber then bead it (really heavily-like an inch thick) with bathroom sealant all round the old rubber where the glass meets it
refit glass, complete with shrink wrap, and close roof
leave it a day or two then remove the wrapped glass
remove shrink wrap from glass
put glass back in and trim any excess sealant away
et voila-new seal
it works-did it to a mk2 escort YEARS ago!
